I started this about a month ago. And im getting decent traffic with some potentials returning. But no sales yet . Its my first e-commerce experience so this has all been a learning process. Please let me have it straight.

Hey 2daysbargains,

A uniform letter case should be followed throughout the store ie either small or capital for a more systematic store view. Everything except the newsletter text is capital in case. Some other key points to be observed regarding your site are as follows:

  1. The search bar alongwith the login and signup should be placed on the top right of the header beside the cart for a more professional store look.
  2. The footer needs some modification. The footer links should be placed on the left, while the newsletter on the right and the moneyback guarantee should be placed in between the two.
  3. Instead of placing the social links below the dropdown menu, they can better be added to the footer for a more structured look.
  4. Bestsellers need to be added to depict site peculiarity.
  5. Instagram images need to be added near the footer for better brand promotion.

You need to engage your visitors coming on your site by giving loyalty reward points which will increase repeat purchase and customer lifetime value. You can add a chatbot to make sure you never lose any of your customers. You can add web push notification which will help you to retarget your customers anytime even when they are not in your store. This will help you to run your store smoothly and decrease the bounce rate and will capture your visitors and convert them into prospective or paying customers.

Add a referral program. Referral marketing is a cost-effective way to gain new and loyal customers. Because people are social creatures, individuals that are referred to your company are much more likely to remain loyal customers.

Do not worry, sales conversion is a pain point for a lot of merchants there, we have all been there. The good thing is that your site has a high potential, if you fix a couple of moments, I am sure it will bring profit very soon. 


I think you have chosen a very appropriate theme for your type of store. Since you retail different items for men and women, it is important to have a store that will say that right away. Therefore, I suggest changing the image here to maybe a gift image or anything that will speak for your store. 

I, personally, thought it was a women's clothing apparel. You might know that people tend to pay attention to pictures nor texts.


The homepage itself is not giving too much information. Consider having a featured collections or similar collection there, having items displayed on the main page will increase the chances of attracting visitors' attention. 


On the product page, consider adding the description to a separate section so that the page does not have too much scroll and the reviews widget is more noticeable. And the buttons are a little too big.

thank you for your input. i definitely agree with you on a few points. the product page i am fully aware is to much , little by little im re adjusting each product, but your comment on having discription on seperate page or even a tab would be great. im just self teaching myself how and where to place snippets to my code. any tips on where i could find free code and where i should place it?  once again thank you for your tips and the time out of your day. chris

im truly grateful for your input aswell. all the modifications you advised are valid points and im making the necessary changes. as far as the coding goes im sure i would only have to re arrange code. or i may be able to do it all in editer, i havent looked yet but im thinking just the arrangements of links on header and footing may only be changed with code. i will get back on that one. but if u may know before hand please feal free to advise any coding techniques i may find helpful. once again im very appreciative for your guidance. chris

thank you for the time you took to give me guidance. i like these ideas a lot , loyalty programs would definitely help repeat customers. and redirecting is also another idea that you helped me to understand better. i am taking all these into great consideration now. my main thing here is i like to be able to do all these with out another app, well atleast one that i will have to pay for .honestly my budget right now is below 0 , lol, this is why ive asked the previous threads how i can alter code myself. its more cost effective and i get to learn more. i am very grateful for all your input and any other advise is truly appreciated. chris

I’ve gone through your store and found that there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales. Here is a page-by-page/sectional review of your site:


Header & Footer :

Customize your header and footer with specific functionalities. Your header should offer a search bar where people can type in the products they’re looking for.  Example of Good Header 

Also, create a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator and let your social links open in a new tab so your customers don’t have to leave your store to check your social media pages. Footer must be more professional, attractive and responsive.


Home Page :

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive. Add hero banner with prompt CTA buttons that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc. Below the hero banner, create categories for all your products in a slider that engages customers. Your Unique value proposition should be highlighted on your homepage. Add testimonial carousels, announcement bars, product slideshows, featured collections, display instagram feed and make your homepage SEO friendly to increase your site traffic and conversions.  Example of Nice Home page  


Collection Page :

Your customer views this page to have an in-depth view of the products and services you offer. Make sure this page has a creative banner to enhance the visual appeal of your store, product reviews of all the products in your store, infinite scrolling to increase page views. announcement bars for highlighting promotions, events, deals and product labels like % off, ‘New Arrival’, ‘Sold Out’,2nd image on Hover,infinite scrolling etc.  Example of Good Collection Page 


Product Page :

Add interactive and user-friendly features like custom swatches, product zoom in, unique product titles/descriptions, related product carousel, cart drawer and a sticky cart with a sticky add to cart and buy now button. Example of Ideal Product Page

Integrations on your store :

How do you plan to monitor your site performance and track conversions? 

Simply set up and integrate Google Analytics, Facebook Conversion tracking and Google Search Console with your store and get to know who is visiting your store, their demographics, which of your Facebook page viewer converts into your buyer and your store’s ranking, impressions & clicks  on Google. 


Besides these tracking methods, make sure the following is included on your store:

  1. Include live chat option that is visible on every page of your store to keep your customers happy and retain them.
  2. Must include security badges for trust factor and authentication.
  3. There needs to be a strong color coordination among all the colors used on your store. Try to use the same or similar colors used in your logo throughout your store and in the social media business page banner or cover picture you create.
  4. Create a sense of urgency with countdown timer, ‘only 1 left’ features  and promotional banners highlighting ‘sale expiry’ and also add sales pop to make urgency in the store
  5. Ensure your store speed is optimized. You can do this by checking your google page speed score. Minify codes that are redundant or apps that are slowing down the site speed.  Make your site mobile-friendly. Sample
  6. Remove the ‘Powered by Shopify’ icon in the footer section to make your store look more professional.
  7. Optimize your user experience with easy navigation, proper spacing, alignment, font and color coordination.
