Hoping my 2nd shop is better than my 1st

6 0 5

Hello everyone. New to the forum but not new to Shopify. I just finished my 2nd shop. My first was a POD and it was a disaster..mostly because I tried learning adobe illustrator!!  Needless to say...it didn't go well. LOL.

Here is my new shop:

I focused on my brand. But I feel like something is missing.

My other concern is my shipping times...2-3 weeks. I only used Ali as my source. I tried finding my products with other suppliers, but really not much. I am now looking at specific stores to dropship from. But until then, this will have to do.

Let me know what you think!!

This is an accepted solution.

Hi @DaeWook3

Looks good so far. Few things I'd change.

Announcement bar

Your website looks pretty inspirational but the announcement bar .... the first thing people will see isn't very inspirational at all.

Product Pages

I'd remove the tag list. There is stacks of tags and could be little distracting. I'd also add Testimonials and/or reviews.

Add To Cart

I don't know if my internet is slow or not but I couldn't add anything to cart and checkout. Just double check that.

Tutorials & Tips

I have some videos etc on my website that might help also you can view them HERE or https://www.inspiresmallbusiness.com/blogs/shopify

Overall good job. Keep up the good work.

Hey Daewook3,

Apart from Ali express you can use Light in the Box, American greenwood, Doba,Dealxtreme (DX), Banggood etc as suppliers to dropship from. Though the first impression of the store is good but still, I can confront you with some of the things in a very simple way, it will help you in improving UI and overall functionalities to become more user-friendly.

  1. It would be great if you can create a seperate sale page for discounted products.
  2. Add some blogs as well to describe clearly.
  3. Add a separate section of best sellers as well.
  4. Also, You have ample of products and the visitor might feel hard to find the right product.
Also, your search page is a bit off and empty https://daewook3.com/search?type=product&q=. Don't you think if suggestions are offered to the searchbar, there will be a lot of chances for a visitor to buy from your store?
I would recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.
Check out the features live here.
  5. Sales Pop syncs your store's data to turn recent orders into sales notification popups on your storefront. This is Sales Pop's highest converting feature and is most commonly used on product pages, collection pages.
  6. You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.

Hope the feedback serves you in an appropriate manner.

Sparq is a fast and beautiful product filter and search solution for Shopify store owners. It allows store owners to add a custom tag, metadata, or variant based filters on their collection page and upgrade their default search to an extremely fast, more user-friendly and feature-rich search.

Thanks for all the pointers.

Yeah, in regards to the cart and when the pop-up appears, the screen goes dim...

I have no idea how that happened. And honestly don't even know where to begin on fixing that.

Hi @DaeWook3

Overall I think your shopify store looks pretty good, But I noticed a couple of things that you might consider adding.

You might consider adding reviews. If you add reviews it will help keep your customers on your site. If your customer needs to leave your site to do research on a product they might not come back, adding reviews can help with that.

After carefully reviewing I don't see a sense of urgency. By using urgency, you can make your visitors feel like they are missing out unless they order immediately. The 'Fear of Missing Out' that they experience, will increase your ability to convert them into buyers. One app that can help you with that is https://apps.shopify.com/better-countdown . It really can make a big difference in getting your customers to buy from you

Did you think about adding an always visible buy button. One of the biggest reasons people don't buy from online stores is because it's a hassle to checkout. We want to be able to reduce all friction that could potentially cause a customer not to buy. I recommend adding https://apps.shopify.com/better-sticky-checkout-button-increase-your-sales to your site. It's an app that will make your buy button always visible. If they buy button isn't always visible on your site, your customer will have a hard time trying to buy from you. And even if they still are able to checkout, it can go a long way in helping them have a positive experience on your site.

Also I noticed that you don't have a blog. If you had a blog you would be able to drive more organic traffic to your store, plus it would help establish yourself as an expert.

An important thing I couldn't find is a FAQ section. Adding an FAQ section to your store can help your customer more easily be able to find a solution to their problems without asking you. This will help long into the future so you don't need to spend so much time on customer support

Overall your store looks really good, I think with just a little bit of time and effort you'll be able to create a really awesome store!

Just so you know (I had to do it), I wrote a series of emails https://mailchi.mp/7d8692283c12/shopify-conversion-course that might help you with some tips for making your store better (I get into the weeds there).
