Kitchen gadget store feedback

Hi all first time posting on the forum. Last month I started my first real Shopify store for kitchen gadgets I'm getting about 300 people per day visiting the store but no sales, no email sign ups, really no engagement from anyone. So I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on what maybe I'm doing wrong on the store to get people interested Or just anything else you see that I should change?

Sorry for any grammar spelling mistakes I'm doing this from the phone.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

Congrats on opening your first store!

Sorry to hear that you aren't getting the sales to match the traffic. Your website looks great, you've done a great job. It's discouraging not to see the fruit of your labor, I hope that turns around soon for you.

I want you to succeed so here is my honest feedback..

I think your issue might be the products you've chosen. You are offering products that are easily accessible and not in high demand. Knives, spiralizers, clever cutters and etc. are all items that can be purchased in big box stores and purchased online through them or Amazon. When you search any of these types of items, this is who is showing up in search results and who you are competing with for customers. People with well known, well established brands with massive marketing budgets.
I'd recommend setting yourself apart by researching what is currently trending in kitchen gadgets and not easily accessible and focus on selling that. I have more to say on finding the right products and dropshipping success, I go over everything in this video so please give it a watch:

Again, not trying to discourage you, genuinely want you to succeed.

If you have any questions, you can contact us using the information in our signature. We hope our response was helpful, if it was, let us know by giving us a thumbs up!

Best of luck!

Hello @steveemmerich

Congratulations on your new store! Looks very professional.

Here are some observations that you might want to consider:

If you are not getting many conversions from clicks to sales, the first thing I want to tell you, is that you are not the only one facing this issue. This problem is very common for new Shopify store owners, and a few simple steps can set you on track to get sales. An idea that you can start on right now is a Customer Review Form. It does not have to be too detailed, can be a simple 5-star rating, that the users are prompted to answer after buying or visiting your website. The idea is that if more people like your website, it will increase your credibility and others will buy from you more, or what we all "Word of Mouth Marketing". A gentle reminder to be patient, as these conversions take some time. Meanwhile, you can check out some great tips on how to increase sales in this blog: You have great faith in your online shop, but why aren’t visitors converting?

A few pointers about the website itself:

It is a nice idea to incorporate a chatbot with your website, but it is too small, and not attracting the attention of the customer. If you want people to write what they are looking for in your chat box, consider using a pop up window that will jump at the user's attention immediately.

Since you are selling gadgets, it is an effective idea to include more than one picture of the item, so that people understand more clearly what it looks like. If you are worried about space, then you can design it in such a way that the pictures change when you place your cursor on the picture.

Finally, you might want to check out Google Ads, which is a great way to increase your SEO, and be on top of the search list of your target customers.

Hope you found what you're looking for! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Hi @steveemmerich !

Add a blog page, blog page helps you to share more about your website and products which increases your site visibility.Your e-commerce blog will not only drive more traffic to your website—but it will increase your conversions too. Your blog will make you feel more credible and relatable, which will provide new clients with a greater sense of confidence in their purchases.

Homepage designs guides your visitors around your website. To engage visitors you need to work on homepage layout design.  Include trust indicators on the homepage. Homepage content should be strategically decided.

90% of people read reviews before purchasing an item. I personally do not read the description too much, I go straight on to the reviews section because that is social proof. In my opinion that is essential for every site. I highly recommend (almost insist) and adding that feature on your site. You can use Growave for that, it offers automated emails within the Reviews feature as well.

Social media has become a huge thing nowadays. I highly recommend taking advantage of that and adding Instagram galleries on your homepage. It will help drive traffic from your site on to your account and vice versa.

Implement an opportunity to log in and sign up using Social Media account. We all have accounts at least in one social media. And if I have an opportunity to create an account just with one click, I will do it. having an easier way to Sign in will help you gather customer base. The most valuable thing for a company is the customer.

The sale you have seems to be a nice deal, however, when you make such a big amount off it might devalue your product. People always need to know why you have made such sales, is it a seasonal sale? or is it because there is no demand for it? Does that mean the product is bad?

Instead of giving a discount for nothing, give them rewards for completing certain actions on your store ex. for creating accounts, for leaving a review, for sharing your site, for spending money on your site. It is not difficult for a user to do and you will get so many actions on your site, and you are having discounts anyway.

Growave is the all-in-one marketing platform that has
- Visual Reviews with automated emails
- Loyalty&Rewards
- Wishlist
- Instagram
- Social Login + more

Hi @steveemmerich welcome to Shopify community

Hope your business is going well during these difficult times. I checked your store website, and I have a few tips and feedback I'd like to share,

1. Send abandoned cart emails: If you have lots of traffic and little sales due to abandoned carts so you can get lost revenue using abandonment email campaigns. There are many Automated tools for abandoned carts. They can help you increase sales and re-engage visitors to your site who have left. You can also send promotional emails to your subscriber's list.

2.
Have a featured collection based on your offers, new arrivals, best sellers, etc. This will grab the attention of customers when they browse the homepage itself. Also adding more graphic product labels/stickers like Sale, Fast Selling, Free Shipping can help increase your sales by tapping into powerful psychological triggers such as scarcity, social proof, and urgency. You can read more about it here.

3.
Good navigation provides an improved user experience leading to more sales and revenue. Add a top navigation bar with the product catalog broken down into different collections & categories so that customers can quickly browse and reach their desired products faster. Also, have an auto-complete and suggestion feature in the search bar so that it provides an extra helping hand to relatable collections and products will also be useful.

4. Adding product stickers/trust badges can help increase your sales by tapping into powerful psychological triggers such as scarcity, social proof, and urgency. Also having graphic and personalized stickers on products will help grab attention of customers easily and nudge them to purchase.

5. Shopify store owners made sales worth over $2.9 Billion during BFCM 2019. This year according to a Google report, "People will discover and buy online even more" and most of them will shop at local, small businesses. It’s past time to prepare your Shopify store for the biggest shopping weekend in the United States!

Now this year may not be exactly the same. Customer priorities and buying behavior has changed SIGNIFICANTLY this year, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Read more in our blog here to get a complete rundown of how to Increase Black Friday Cyber Monday Sales with Your Shopify Store Experience.

I hope this helps!

Munawar.

Hello @steveemmerich, I hope you are doing well! Here is the feedback about your store:

- Delay popup for 40 seconds. Too many popups are annoying.

- Add testimonials on the homepage.

Add a referral program. A referral program can help optimize your sales cycle, help you produce quality leads, and take your marketing efforts up a notch. People are more like to make a purchase when a product is referred by any friend. You can boost your marketing ROI and drive conversions with referral marketing.

Add a web push notification - It turns visitors into subscribers and subscribers into customers. It’s a powerful and effective marketing tool adopted by online businesses to reach out to and interact with their audience, keep them updated about any important information, announcing sales and offers, and eventually driving more eCommerce conversions.

Hope this helps!

If you are looking to implement the above features/ customer engagement or marketing tools in your store. I would recommend you to install the all in one Shopify app AiTrillion. You can check it out. I am sure you will find it useful.

Thank you everyone for your feedback and advice.

@EcomGeeksVery informative. working through the advice in the video now.

@CutOutWizDo you have a recommended chat bot App? I am using the shopify one, but I don't know how to have it open like you said. I have been focusing on facebook ads, google is my next step.

@GrowaveI have added a blog page, and implemented your app. Already I have two users that have signed up and one that made a wish list. I have also, changed the banner ad to make more sense.

@MunnNow that people are providing their emails I will be sending abandon cart emails for sure thank you. I have Shopify setup to auto send them is that the best way? I am not sure how to effectively use the stickers yet but I will definitely try them out.

@AiTrillionI have increase the pop ups to over 30 seconds, I still think there might be an issue with the black Friday ones and I am looking into it. Do you have a recommendation for referral program apps? I can use growave but right now I can't budget for that level plan. What do you recommend for push notification applications? Right now I am using seguno for emails, but it looks like everyone uses Klaviyo does that do push?

Again thank you all for your help and support. I was honestly worried about posting, but the response has been overwhelming positive and constructive. Thank you so much.

I just like the simplification of your important navigation but I could still examine approaches to enhance to make it less complicated for human beings to find their merchandise. It may be some thing New Arrives only a wild stab at it, however you get the factor.
