So I am a wholesale retailer for a number of different health and supplement companies. Our biggest issue right now is when an order comes in, we have to turn around and go to the online store of the supplier and make the order for that customer with a discount code or something.
Since several of our vendors/suppliers run their stores through Shopify, I am trying to find a way to automate things. An example would be, say Kevin places an order through us for a Dark Mountain product. Instead of us going and then placing an order for Kevin on the Dark Mountain website, I want the system to automatically process the order through the Dark Mountain Shopify store and either auto update the tracking info or send us the tracking info manually to update ourselves. I can square away payment in other ways if I need to. I have looked at using EDI software and third party communication companies but that would make it where the vendors have to use the same systems and it becomes expensive to all parties.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Great to hear from you essentially waht your looking to do would require a small custom application installed in yours and your partner's stores that utilises the draft order API https://help.shopify.com/en/api/reference/orders/draftorder
There is obviously an entire workflow and management side to this and security etc. Fell free to get in touch with us here

I sent an inquiry in but it looks like to me that we can link the order code into another store and when someone orders from us a new draft order is sent to the vendor to fulfill? Do we set up what the cost is and it is instantly paid across the platforms or how does all of that work?
It might work best if I talk to someone in person. This is actually Jeff, I own 50% of the company with Mike and do most the backend stuff. Thanks
Jeff we have your enquiry ill email you back shortly
