Hey, everyone. I'm looking for feedback on my new store "Midtown Morning". I created it about a month ago, and I have been running facebook ads to direct traffic to the store but I have not gotten any sales yet. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Specifics:

Does the site look good?

Is there anything that you would change on the site?

Is there something on the site that would keep you from buying anything on it?
Is there something important missing on the site?

Here is the store URL:  https://midtown-morning.com/

Thank you all so much for the help.

Hi @Justen2

Hey congratulations on opening such a great store, honestly I like it a lot, but I think there might be a couple things you could consider changing.

An important thing I couldn't find is a blog. Adding a blog to your site would help to increase SEO on your site.

After carefully reviewing I don't see an always visible buy button. Your buy button is the most important button on your site and it should always be within the thumbs reach of the customer. Take a look at your store (especially on your phone), and try to easily find your buy button, especially when you are on the bottom of the page. If your buy button isn't always visible you are making it harder for your customer to buy. Consider adding https://apps.shopify.com/better-sticky-checkout-button-increase-your-sales , it will help it make it easier for your customer to buy from you.

You might consider adding a sense of urgency. One of the main reasons why people don't buy from a store is because they feel like they can buy it whenever. A big thing that can help more of your visitors be turned into buyers would be by adding a sense of urgency to your store. One way to add urgency is to have a sale, and all sales need an end date. You can easily add a sale to your store with a countdown timer. One countdown timer that I recommend is https://apps.shopify.com/better-countdown .

After looking I couldn't find social media links. Adding social media accounts for your store can help you better advertise. If you have a lot of followers on your facebook or instagram, it can create some social proof, and help more people buy from you.

One thing to consider is adding a FAQ section. If your customer can't find an answer to their questions they may not buy from you. Adding an FAQ section will help to add trust, and make it so your customer doesn't need to leave your site, to find an answer to their question.

But seriously your store is actually really great, and I think just a few minor tweaks could really go a long way.

If you found this review useful I created an email course here https://mailchi.mp/7d8692283c12/shopify-conversion-course where you can learn more ways to convert your customers

Hello there,

I checked your store and it seems like there is a room for improvement there:

  • I would advise you to work a little bit more on your home page. When the customer lands on it, in the first 2 seconds he/she needs to know that the site sells sunglasses and wallets. You may want to add a Popular/Featured Products section, a Review section with the best comments you have received from your customers etc.
  • The Social links you have in your footer are being opened in the same browser tab. I would advise you to change this and upon clicking make them open in a separate browser tab. This way your store will remain loaded and it will be easier for the customer to get back to is, in order to complete an order.
  • You may want to add a Favicon to your website as I see that you are currently missing one.
  • I see that you have an About Us page, which in my opinion is crucial for every website. You may want to remove this additional "the" here - https://www.screencast.com/t/UHGVyF4W8 and also, if you are planning on shipping all over the world (including the EU) you will need to be GDPR compliant. In order to do that, you can use a ready solution like this GDPR + Cookie Management app
  • If you want to retrieve some of your leaving customers, you may want to check this app - Discount Popup on Store Exit
  • You can also offer discount codes upon subscribing to your newsletter. A lot of Shopify stores are doing that.

I hope this feedback will help you. :)

Cancel all paid marketing ASAP

Hi @Justen2

Just going to be honest here your website isn't ready for paid marketing. At the moment it would be nearly impossible to make a sale. Here is the answers to your questions.

Does the site look good?

Logo looks awesome. Really need to work on the below

  • Home Page (flow)
  • Product page and description

Is there anything that you would change on the site?

Yes. I wouldn't use the theme you have now. Here is a review of a great free theme.

https://www.inspiresmallbusiness.com/blogs/shopify/1-shopify-free-theme

Is there something on the site that would keep you from buying anything on it?

100% product page needs lot of work.

Is there something important missing on the site?

Yes. Five most important parts to improve

  • Home Page
  • Product Page
  • Checkout
  • Site Navigation
  • Mobile Friendly

Overall I love your logo. Shopify is a learning curve. Keep putting the work in and you will crush it online.

Cheers

Hey Midtown-morning,

The Carousels look quite cool along with the store theme. However, the empty white space in the site needs to be eliminated with the below-mentioned items:

  1. Favicon is missing.
  2. The logo can be placed slightly towards more upper left.
  3. The menu can be situated slightly upwards along with login, cart and search symbol.
  4. Offer some discounts to your customers to give them a chance to visit again.
  5. Add some more social links will help enhance connectivity.
  6. Customer testimonials should be added along with some blogs to make the site look more informative leading to better brand promotion.
  7. You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  8. Finally, I would also recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.
Check out the features live here.

Hope your store starts getting sales and conversions very soon.

Neha;)

Sparq is a fast and beautiful search solution for Shopify store owners. It allows store owners to upgrade their default search to an extremely fast, more user friendly and feature rich search
