I have just set up my store www.spendlessoutlet.com, any advice on how to improve the store before spending on adverts will be appreciated.

Hey, Welcome to the Shopify family.

1. Try going with a horizontal logo than a square to reduce the navbar space/

2.  Use "sign-in" instead of the word "account"

3. I like the category section as it captures users with a specific buy intent.

4. I see you have marked all products as on sale. I would suggest putting only a limited item on focus so the user can quickly make a decision and avoid decision fatigue. Also instead of marking all of it as `on-sale`, use other tags like best seller, trending, new etc. This makes your store more vibrant. There is a cool little app called modemagic that can help with this. You can. easily tags and cool stickers on it. Check it out on the Shopify apps pages.

5. Avoid using red as your primary branding colour. Try more mellow colours like #679b9b, #82c4c3 and #d4ebd0. Check out https://colorhunt.co/palette

Keep the below-listed points in mind for optimizing your store:

  • There is a lot of "empty space" on the header top, which looks awkward.
  • In order to reduce the "unwanted header space", the logo size can be minimized and a "horizontal header menu" can be added instead of the dropdown.
  • Include "Twitter and Linked In" business pages to the store footer for better advertising. 
  • You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  • Filters are very important for customers in order to identify the correct product from the huge catalog. So, you should look for advanced filter options for your store.
  • Finally, I would also recommend you to try Sparq product filters and search to replace the default search on your store, this app allows advanced custom tag product filters for collection pages, synonyms, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with the search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.

I've taken a look at your store. Nice store! I've some suggestions to increase the conversion rate.

 

1. There is lot of white space in the header. Minimize the logo space. 

2. Add 'New Arrivals' section to help customers keep updated on new products.

3. Add detailed product description in product pages.

4. Add product reviews as most of the customers read the review before purchasing the product.

5. You can add testimonials on the home page to make the store look more professional.

6. Add About Us page which is a reflection of the purpose and personality of the business.

I can see that you are having information about shipping,returns and refunds which is all very important to increase trust among shoppers.

 

Here are some suggestions that you can consider :

 

1. Consider using High Quality images in the slider.

2. You can add customer testimonials to increase trust among shoppers.

3. Instagram feed could be added for better brand promotions.

4. You may want to think about adding product reviews. Reviews are essential for any eCommerce store as it helps sell more and creates immediate trust with shoppers. Be sure to check out our review app.
