We have a lifestyle boutique (brick and mortar store in Los Angeles) We carry unique small batch fashion, jewelry, gift, art...  We created our own online store https://treehausla.com/ and are now looking for help fine tuning it and trying to figure out the best way of getting in front of more people.  Does anyone have experience with a shopify expert that they either really liked or really didn't like and/or what do you think we should be looking for at this point in a shopify expert?

Hello,

 

Your store looking cool. Nice work you have done on your website.
You can add your store testimonials, It's very helpful for your visitors to sing your products.
I am unable to find your store's social media page links. You can add it and regularly promote your products through online store.
You can add trust badges on your cart page. It checks to visitors that a site is genuine. Information is gathered by the outsider trust seal organization that affirms that the business is valid.

Hey Treehausla,

A Home button should be added to the main menu for ease of navigation and access to the homepage. Other peculiar points to be noted for store optimization are as follows:

  1. The order of arrangement of elements in the main menu is a little haphazard. The correct order must be-" Home, Shop, New, Sale, Gift cards, Events and About Us".
  2. Use the black header template for highlighting discounts or shipping offers instead.
  3. For uniquely identifying any site-Favicon is a must.
  4. Add some more unique banners for a more professional site look.
  5. Bestsellers need to be added for depicting site peculiarity and uniqueness.
  6. Reviews need to be added below each product to improve customer choice.
  7. Testimonials and Instagram images need to be added for better brand promotion.
  8. You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  9. Finally, I would also recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.

You have some really great items however I am afraid the site is not making it justice. 

 

Here are some things that need to be fixed

-place a favicon to make your site more recognizable in the browser

-add more CTA to your homepage. Basically, all you have now is a navigation bar and an image. You are not taking advantage of the homepage what so ever. 

-implement a redirect to your banner that will take to maybe a sale page or a collection page 

-below the banner place categories or featured collections section 

-add a slogan or a short description of your site on the banner

-Once you click on the SHOP link on the navigation bar without choosing a category from drop-down menu, it opens an empty page. Instead, redirect it to a collections/all page. The point is to avoid any broken links 

-Add Social engagement on your store.  That can be done by having reviews, wishlist, comments features.

I think your homepage is too simple and lacks necessary content.

On a homepage, it's important to quickly inform visitors about the product ranges that the store offers. I can see you are selling a wide range of product (from the SHOP drop-down list), but without clicking on SHOP, I cannot say for sure what types of products I can find in this store. Judging from the hero banner, if I'm finding books, I would think I have come to the wrong place.

To improve this, I suggest you feature the available product collections right under the hero banner. Additionally, you add a short description on or above the banner to quickly tell what product ranges are available in this store and whom the products are for.

Also, you have a brick-and-mortar store, this information is important to improve your brand's credibility, I suggest you include this on your homepage.

I’ve gone through your store and found there are a couple of moment for you to take care of and then you are off to great sales. . Here is a page-by-page/sectional review of your site:

 

Header & Footer :

Customize your header and footer with specific functionalities. Your header should offer a smart search bar where people can type in the products they’re looking for.  Example of Good Header 

Also, create a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator and let your social links open in a new tab so your customers don’t have to leave your store to check your social media pages, also favicon is missing which gives an identity to your webpage. Add Policy pages like Shipping policy, privacy policy, term of service in your footer section for the store security purpose and your newsletter must be highlighted so people who follow can have the your brand can subscribe to receive more updates.

 

Home Page :

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive. Add hero banner with prompt CTA buttons that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc. Below the hero banner, create categories for all your products in a slider that engages customers. Your Unique value proposition should be highlighted on your homepage. Add testimonial carousels, announcement bars, product slideshows, featured collections, display instagram feed and make your homepage SEO friendly to increase your site traffic and conversions.  Example of Nice Home page  

 

Collection Page :

Your customer views this page to have an in-depth view of the products and services you offer. Make sure this page has a creative banner to enhance the visual appeal of your store, product reviews of all the products in your store, infinite scrolling to increase page views,,2nd image on Hover,announcement bars for highlighting promotions, events, deals and product labels like % off, ‘New Arrival’, ‘Sold Out’, etc.  Example of Good Collection Page 

 

Product Page :

Add interactive and user-friendly features like custom swatches, product zoom in, product reviews, unique product titles/descriptions, cart drawer and a sticky cart with a sticky add to cart and buy now button. Example of Ideal Product Page

How do you plan to monitor your site performance and track conversions? 

Simply set up and integrate Google Analytics, Facebook Conversion tracking and Google Search Console with your store and get to know who is visiting your store, their demographics, which of your Facebook page viewer converts into your buyer and your store’s ranking, impressions & clicks  on Google. 

 

Besides these tracking methods, make sure the following is included on your store:

  1. Include live chat option that is visible on every page of your store to keep your customers happy and retain them.
  2. Update your site with all the policy documents -- the privacy policy, FAQ, terms and conditions, return and shipping policy templates and have a separate blog page.  Sample
  3. There needs to be a strong color coordination among all the colors used on your store. Try to use the same or similar colors used in your logo throughout your store and in the social media business page banner or cover picture you create.
  4. Create a sense of urgency with countdown timer, ‘only 1 left’ features  and promotional banners highlighting ‘sale expiry’.
  5. Ensure your store speed is optimized. You can do this by checking your google page speed score. Minify codes that are redundant or apps that are slowing down the site speed.  Make your site mobile-friendly. Sample
  6. Remove the ‘Powered by Shopify’ icon in the footer section to make your store look more professional.
  7. Optimize your user experience with easy navigation, proper spacing, alignment, font and color coordination.

2. Add reviews and Q&A to establish authority and influence visitors with user-generated content. Turn your customer content into sales by collecting and leveraging reviews, ratings, and Q&A. Collect reviews and display them.

3. Give rewards to your customers. By offering rewards for completing actions like making a purchase or following you on social media, you show your customers that you care about how they engage with you and want to thank them for it. This encourages them to do it again in the future, transforming them into valuable repeat customers.

4. Add a chatbot to make sure you never lose any of your customers. Every visitor can be your customer.

5. Add a referral program. Referral marketing is a cost-effective way to gain new and loyal customers. Because people are social creatures, individuals that are referred to your company are much more likely to remain loyal customers.
