Hello,

my store is almost 3 years old - Mooky Boutique . I sell boho style women clothes. My customers come mostly from Instagram and Pinterest. I have few sales from Google.
I would be very thankful for your feedback. In particular I am interested in:
- what would you change on my online boutique?
- does my store look professional and trustworthy?

Hey,
After having a look at the store, I conclude that it is quite amazing and close to perfect. It has everything at its place from top to bottom but surely you can work on few aspects mentioned down below which will help you in settling UI and overall functionality which will build trust for visitors and eventually drive you a lot better sales.

 

  1. For engaging new customers, you can add a section of best-selling products.

  2. For some sales at the start, you need to offer some discounts to get going as a promotional offer.
    Also, it would be great if you can create a seperate sale page for discounted products.

  3. Please add some blogs for better clarity.
  4. You should add terms and condition and FAQ’s if any, again these also help in building search engine content. 
  5. Also, You have ample of products and sure you might add a few more as its just a start for your visitor might feel hard to find the right product.
    Also, your search page is a bit off and empty https://www.mookyboutique.com/search?q=. Don't you think if suggestions are offered to the searchbar, there will be a lot of chances for a visitor to buy from your store?
    I would recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.

Overall I think your shopify store looks pretty good, But I noticed a couple of things that you might consider adding.

 

One thing to consider is adding a FAQ section. If your customer can't find an answer to their questions they may not buy from you. Adding an FAQ section will help to add trust, and make it so your customer doesn't need to leave your site, to find an answer to their question.

 

Also I noticed that you don't have an always visible buy button. One of the biggest reasons people don't buy from online stores is because it's a hassle to checkout. We want to be able to reduce all friction that could potentially cause a customer not to buy. I recommend adding https://apps.shopify.com/better-sticky-checkout-button-increase-your-sales to your site. It's an app that will make your buy button always visible. If they buy button isn't always visible on your site, your customer will have a hard time trying to buy from you. And even if they still are able to checkout, it can go a long way in helping them have a positive experience on your site.

 

One thing to consider is adding a blog. If you had a blog more customers might be able to find your site, and even if they aren't ready to buy at the moment they are reading your blog, they are more likely to buy from you in the future.

 

After browsing your store I noticed I wasn't able to find a sense of urgency. By using urgency, you can make your visitors feel like they are missing out unless they order immediately. The 'Fear of Missing Out' that they experience, will increase your ability to convert them into buyers. One app that can help you with that is https://apps.shopify.com/better-countdown . It really can make a big difference in getting your customers to buy from you

 

But seriously your store is actually really great, and I think just a few minor tweaks could really go a long way.

Hey, I went through your store. It looks good. It is almost professional. You just need to work on the home page layout. Use some banner images and carousels. Videos of your products an be an added cherry. As I can see you have reviews. Product reviews are more convincing when they’re plentiful. To encourage more feedback, don’t be shy about asking your customers to leave a review after making a purchase. Customers who are satisfied with your product often won’t consider leaving a review because everything is already fine. Give them a gentle push, and they’ll likely be glad to share their positive experiences with others.
You can incentivize them with loyalty points for leaving a review. Also, by offering buyers a small discount after they make a purchase if they leave feedback. You can give Loyalty Points for dropping a review. This will encourage them to come back for the redemption of those points.

 

Portray your product reviews on the home page or add a different page for reviews that helps to make your store more authentic and helps to build trust.        Add pop-up for newsletter subscription to get more email subscribers.  I see engagement is missing. You can add web push notification to reach both your known & unknown web visitors without email address when they allow web push notification on their store and  Increase engagement by sending push messages at the perfect time. Even more astounding, this can increase customer retention by 7x times to make it more engaging.
I have some suggestions for your store. Don't hesitate to ask me I know tricks to boost engagement and conversions.

Cal here from Shopify, thanks for reaching out to us. I've taken a look at your store, and you've done great work on it. It was a really pleasant experience from a customer's perspective. I have a few points of feedback you could consider to further improve the store: 

 

Landing Page

  • Your boutique is very product-focused, which is fine, but I feel having a good About Us section would go a long way to make customers feel more at home on your site. It would assist greatly with branding if you inject some personality into the site by writing a really persuasive About Us.  
  • Further to the above, it would be great to see some snippets from that text content on your landing page. Perhaps you could include a mission statement, or testimonials on your landing page too? 
  • I agree that adding a FAQ page would be useful to increase customer trust. 

Products

  • Product photography could be improved. Many of the images are low-resolution, or very small with no option to expand. 
  • Your product descriptions are either too short or non-existent. This is your best opportunity to make that sale, so be sure to write epic product descriptions

Great job on your store! It seems there is some solid feedback already.

 

I will just reiterate a couple points others have made because 2 things stood out to me as well.

 

1. Descriptions. You have some cool products that appear to have been selected to meet certain criteria. Details about the material and a little bit of information about when to wear and how it feels to wear....Like a little story about the products.

 

2. About us section. This store seems to reflect environmental consciousness and makes me feel like products were selected for a specific reason...but that reason has not been explained so although you likely resonate with certain customers...they are left to figure that out for themselves. Tell people who you are, why you exist and what you are trying to achieve and let like minded people connect with you.

 

I did notice that there were some resolution issues with some images. My experience is that it can scare people off.
