Do you think the Asian girl is going to be an issue with fearful customers? I think she's pretty but sadly, with the president calling it the "Chinese virus" it might hurt business?

Hey Little Porch Farm,

Marvelous! "You have really made a very good start", but you still have a long way ahead to reach the pillar of success. Pay attention to the below-mentioned tips to make your store perform well:

  1. The call to action button "Garden Planters" when clicked on shows error "404".
  2. Increase customer urgency to buy a product by using more "catchy taglines" for the header template like "Last Chance! Free shipping on all orders ends today"  for Free shipping offers while," Ends Today! 20% Off Friends & Family" for amazing discounts respectively.
  3. The "first letter" of every word in the "header menu" should be capital like (home, about, contact), etc are having their first letter in lower case.
  4. "Terms of Service" and "Shipping policy" are missing from the footer.
  5. The addition of alternate payment gateways would help in offering different options to the customers to pay according to their requirements.
  6. Aspiring your site to be more legitimate! Add "Trust Badges" near the site footer. This will accomplish the purpose well.
  7. You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  8. Filters are very important for customers in order to identify the correct product from the huge catalog. So, you should look for advanced filter options for your store.
  9. Finally, I would also recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.
Check out the features live here
You can use Sparq free trial for as many products in your store. After the trial period, you can enjoy with Sparq’s Free Starter Plan for upto 1000* products.

All the very best for your coming future!

Neha :)

Sparq is a fast and beautiful product filter and search solution for Shopify store owners. It allows store owners to add a custom tag, metadata, or variant based filters on their collection page and upgrade their default search to an extremely fast, more user-friendly and feature-rich search.

Dear littleporchfarm,

Congratulation for your store.

I’ve gone through your store and found that there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales. Here is a page-by-page/sectional review of your site:

Store Loading Speed -- Store loading speed is very poor for mobile, need to improve speed immediately.

Header/Footer --

Customize your header and footer with specific functionalities. Your header should offer a smart toggle search bar where people can type in the products they’re looking for as well as go for sticky header.

Also, create a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator.

Add all policies pages at footer.

Home Page --

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive. Add prompt CTA buttons with a hero banner that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc. Below the hero banner, create categories for all your products in a slider that engages customers.

Your Unique value proposition should be highlighted on your homepage. Add testimonial carousels, announcement bars, product slideshows and make your homepage SEO friendly to increase your site traffic and conversions.

Collection Page --

Your customer views this page to have an in-depth view of the products and services you offer.

Make sure this page has a creative banner to enhance the visual appeal of your store, product reviews of all the products in your store, infinite scrolling to increase page views. announcement bars for highlighting promotions, events, deals and product labels like % off, ‘New Arrival’, ‘Sold Out’, etc.

Product Page --

Add interactive and user-friendly features like custom swatches, product zoom in, product reviews, unique product titles/descriptions, cart drawer and a sticky cart with a sticky add to cart and buy now button.

I’d suggest you to try our all-in-one app, Cart2Sale  that also includes the Sticky Cart feature where your customers can easily see the total number of items in their cart right on the product page. This improves user experience as they don’t have to go back and forth from the product to the cart page and vice versa.

Cart Page --

Maybe offering gift wrapping on your cart page, allowing your customers to choose their preferred delivery date and time, include security trust badges and add notes like special delivery and packaging instructions can make them trust and love your brand way more.

This page is the final step before your customers check out from your store so it should be as impressive as any other page on your store.

Integrations on your store --

How do you plan to monitor your site performance and track conversions?

Simply set up and integrate Google Analytics and Google Search Console with your store and get to know who is visiting your store, their demographics, which of your Facebook page viewer converts into your buyer and your store’s ranking, impressions & clicks  on Google.

Besides these tracking methods, make sure the following is included on your store:

  1. Include live chat option that is visible on every page of your store to keep your customers happy and retain them.
  2. There needs to be a strong colour coordination among all the colours used on your store. Try to use the same or similar colours used in your logo throughout your store and in the social media business page banner or cover picture you create.
  3. Create a sense of urgency with countdown timer, ‘only 1 left’ features  and promotional banners highlighting ‘sale expiry’.
  4. Ensure your store speed is optimized. You can do this by checking your google page speed score. Minify codes that are redundant or apps that are slowing down the site speed.  Make your site mobile-friendly.
  5. Optimize your user experience with easy navigation, proper spacing, alignment, font and colour coordination.
  6. Optimize your menu and better redesign it.
Best Regards

Haha, love your post :) As far as I know you might scare small-minded people who currently stopped buying Corona beer. But who cares about them - I assume you are targeting people who think for themselves. Besides, you don't have to show your photo on the website, that's the beauty of selling online :)

Hi @littleporchfarm

Recently, I have stumbled upon a similar question regarding having an image of an Asian girl on the hero banner of a toy selling site. It seems to be a concern of a lot of merchants.

But as @Rockpapercopy  said, it will only scare the people who are afraid of every singe thing that has to do with the coronavirus. Moreover, I think those people will not even order anything on the first place, no matter where it has been made or shipped from.

Now, make sure your Garden Planters button on the hero banner is working, because now the link seems to be broken.

I am a garden lover myself, and from that perspective I would love to read a blog about plants from a person who I am buying plants from:) I highly recommend writing some posts about plants, because in your niche, blogging will bring convertible traffic.

Hopefully, I managed to help you. If so, please let me know by liking this post.

Take care and stay healthy <3

Hey @littleporchfarm, Nothing like that, it will not be an issue. Here some inputs from my side you on which you can work on:-

1. Add a shop option in the header menu. There is a font discrepancy.

2. Add privacy policy and shipping policy in the footer menu.

3. You need to engage your visitors coming on your site by giving loyalty reward points which will increase repeat purchase and customer lifetime value. You can add web push notification which will help you to retarget your customers anytime even when they are not in your store. This will help you to run your store smoothly and decrease the bounce rate and will capture your visitors and convert them into prospective or paying customers. You will be able to retain your customers for the long term.

4. Add a referral program. Referral marketing is a cost-effective way to gain new and loyal customers. Because people are social creatures, individuals that are referred to your company are much more likely to remain loyal customers.

To implement these marketing tools on your store you can install It is 'All in One' Shopify app that has all the essential features in a single app and is a fully integrated app.  Plus you don't need to install multiple apps. You can check it out. I am sure you will find it useful.

Hi @littleporchfarm,

Ah! I don't think it will be an issue. The girl looks cute. But you can add some more images of people smiling or enjoying your products . This will give your visitors a good feeling. Also the garden platter button link is not working.

As you might know the featured image captures the first attention of the user. I would suggest to use interesting taglines on banner images to captivate user attention.

Also work on speed of your website, as I am seeing it very low 32%.It should be 65-70. Low mobile page speed may kill your traffic and affect your conversation. For greater success and to deliver a great user experience you should focus on mobile score as well.
