Please give me some feedback on my store

Solved

Hey everyone,

I have a new store that I have had for 3 months now and I am not getting any traffic. I have tried Facebook ads of $100.00 but, I now live on a budget and cannot give Facebook millions. Mark already rich.  apparelthings.net

I got traffic from the ad but, no sales. I been working so hard on my "UPSCALE GENERAL STORE". Can someone give me some advise? I will not pay for a paid theme so please do not tell me to pay for a them. I will only pay for ads. apparelthings.net

Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

I'd be happy to provide some feedback.

Before you go any further, you have to give careful consideration to the products you're selling. You're selling apparel for both men and women, which only really works (99% of the time) for established brands. Why? Because there's so much competition. When you're dropshipping, your options are inherently limited because you have no control over the product you're selling, which exist on at least one other website (AliBaba or AliExpress, usually). On top of that, you're also selling unrelated items like household products and accessories. Why would someone choose to go to your website to purchase such a wide range of products as opposed to Amazon? Walmart? Target?

It's important to have a vision for your online store. Where do you personally want to take it? Place yourself in your customer's and ask yourself why you would purchase from your own store. From what I can see, there's very little rhyme or reason to your store.

Something else I've noticed is that there's a huge issue with how your website is coming across. The product images are poorly photoshopped, irregular, and low quality. That's a huge red flag to most people. Your product selection is lacking and it doesn't seem like you're consciously focusing on a particular aesthetic. Walmart and Target sell everything but they're aimed at different demographics. What kind of store are you? It's virtually impossible to target every single demographic, so finding your focus, niche, and center is imperative so that you're able to continue selling online.

In terms of a plan of action, here's what I would recommend:

  • Before doing anything else, reconsider the products you're selling.
  • Hire a copywriter immediately to work on product descriptions, your policies, and your about page.
  • Absolutely invest in taking better quality photographs of this inventory. If you're set on drop shipping, order your products and take pictures of them. Shopify has a good guide about this.
  • Go on Fiverr and hire someone to make a good logo for your website.
  • The theme itself isn't that bad, but it kind of looks like a Tumblr blog to me. Change the fonts around, especially your body text, because that font is harder to read when it's smaller. Play with colors and make your website a little more interesting. You don't need to pay for a theme. You might also want to consider outsourcing the web design if it's not your strong suit.

I would leave marketing attempts last because you want to make sure your store is ready for other people to see it. If you choose to follow any of these steps, you can post back here and keep getting feedback until your store is ready to be visited!

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to say I TOTALLY DISAGREE.

After 40 years as a Senior Accountant with 26 employees I never gave such harsh criticism to my employee who was new to something. I guess it okay because I DO NOT KNOW YOUR STORE AND HAVE NOT SEND IT.

Buy the way, I have made 4 sells in this very poor store and I worked with someone from Shopify to get my store where it is. I just wanted feedback from people who have a store themselves. I do not believe in knocking people down like that because I know it is not "that bad".

I indicated I have a UPSCALE GENERAL STORE. Do you know what a upscale general store is?????? Walmart's do not sell Fish Scale Removers and Hand Free Mops & Buckets so you are wrong about that.

Do you have a store and if so let the community give you feedback even if it good or bad.

Shipmonk.com need a lot of work.

1.  Look at the customer support area where there is no paragraphs. All of our happiness should be a paragraph.

2.  You have 4 different colors - Light Blue, Green, Black and Dark Blue looks horrible

3. The new way - The should be capitalized.

Maybe you need to get a professional to help you with your website because it's a mess.

Success.

Here are some ways to make your store even better and make people want to purchase.

Homepage Feedback

    1. Carousels have been proven to kills conversions rates ...limit how much you use the one on your site. No one is going to wait around to see what is on each sliders

    2. Add links to your footer for about us, FAQ, and shipping policy. I didn't see these pages on your site and they are ones customers will look for

    3. Make sure the main product images for each product has the same theme / style as some are shot in a studio vs outdoor right now. This is going to help tie your site together when people are looking at your collection pages

Product Page Feedback

    1. Add links to your shipping and return/refund policy on each product page

    2. Make a sizing chart information page and link to it from your product pages and in the footer.

    3. Add a longer product description as this is how you convince someone to buy on your site. Plus it helps with SEO and ranking in organic search

    4. Make sure all your product images are the same size and dimensions. This is going to help tie your site together

    5. Add a section at the bottom of product pages to show your most viewed/bought items from the site. This can help increase your average order value

Your store just needs some tweaks to take it up a level.  Hope you found this helpful, if so please click "like" below to let me know.

Thank you so much.  Most of the images are from Aliexpress. I just put this them up about  a couple of hours ago and yes, it need a lot of tweaks. I had the simple theme and now I am using the supply theme. So, I still have a lot of tweaks to do and I will.

I also have 2 other stores and one is a Etsy store that very successful so I had a couple of orders I had to work on.

Thank you for your positive feedback and in the next couple of days I will make all the tweaks that you suggest.
