Hi guys and girls!

 

I really need some feedback and help on my website.

I'm not the best on designing websites and been really struggling on getting where I want to be.

I don’t want my website to look cheap and un trustworthy because I think this is effecting my sales.

I’m  getting traffic through it like a lot but no commitments.

Please help!

Here's some feedback for your store. 

Homepage

  • Update all instances of paddleboarding to paddle boarding. (This will also be better for SEO.)
  • Add a unique unique value proposition above the fold. 

    “A value proposition is a promise of value to be delivered. It’s the primary reason a prospect should buy from you. It’s also the #1 thing that determines whether people will bother reading more about your product or hit the back button. On your site, your value proposition is the main thing you need to test—if you get it right, it will be a huge boost.”

  • Replace the main image with an image of the new design. Screenshot below for context.

  • Once the image is replace, remove the "New Sunset Paddle boarding Design! Click here" link and replace it with a call-to-action button beneath the image. Update the call-to-action language to "Shop Newest Collection".

  • Update "Follow us on our adventure!" to "Join us on our adventure!" 

Product pages

  • Add copy to each product page in the form of storytelling (in addition to the product description). This is good practice for both SEO and conversions.

For example: on this product page on David's Teas for raspberry mojitos, the storytelling on the page is: "Is there any way to improve on fresh mint and tangy lime? Just add raspberries! Our juicy Raspberry Mojito iced tea is about to become your new go-to drink. It’s a bright pink tisane that’s fruity, minty and utterly refreshing. Served over ice with a splash of rum, this caffeine-free infusion tastes like a summer afternoon on a sunny Havana patio. In short, pure heaven."

Joanna Wiebe and Alaura Weaver share 11 storytelling elements:

A relatable protagonist/hero (your target customer)
A world (the emotional motivators)
A call to adventure (goal or problem to solve)
The stakes/refusal of the call (nightmare scenario)
A helper (your brand)
A magical item (your offer)
Crossing the first threshold (CTA)
The belly of the whale (onboarding/lead nurturing)
Road of trials (split-testing)
The happily ever after (future pacing)
The return (testimonials & brand advocacy)

  • Gather and share more social proof in the form of product video reviews written reviews, and photos from customers.

More than 50% of shoppers say online video has helped them decide which brand or product to buy (Google).
67% of shoppers turn to video at least once before making a purchase (Moz).

  • Consider offering free shipping on all products and just work shipping into product pricing. (Right now free shipping is only available in the UK. There may be some way to segment visitors.)

In a survey by Walker Sands Communications, 90% of people said that having an order ship for free is the biggest incentive to add more to their cart, while another survey found up to 74% of shoppers will abandon their cart if delivery fees are too high. More on that here.

  • Ensure that you don't display any products that are sold out unless customers can share their e-mail address to be notified when the item will be back in stock.

  • Ensure all photographs of products are in high-resolution. According to Justuno, 93% of consumers consider visual content to be the key deciding factor in a purchasing decision. 

  • Ensure that all products are shown in context. For example, provide photographs of customers wearing the organic sunset paddle boarding hoodie instead of just photos of the hoodie.

“About Us” page: 

  • Remove from the page: "Sorry, there are no products in this collection".
  • Also remove the "sort by" drop-down menu.
  • Talia Wolf shares 4 rules for creating a high-converting "About Us" page that I recommend double checking for your page:
    • Make it about the customer
    • Talk to your customer, not at them
    • Tell the story
    • Don’t just say it, show it

SEO

  • Ensure that your website meets the standards on Google Search Central.
  • For on-page SEO, add original, creative content to your home page and product pages.
  • For off-page SEO, get backlinks via partnerships, guest blogging, communities, social media.

Congrats on your new store, I have spent some time reviewing your store and want to give you some feedback, hope it would be helpful to you:

1. Images

This is the part that I really want to emphasise. Maybe the outlook of your store would be more attractive if you could create and use the images with high-quality. Especially, when your products are related to fashion, you have to pay more attention to the illustrations. Maybe you should try some images of your products on real models’ body to make it more trustworthy.

2. Header

The header takes too much space, therefore, when customers join your page, they are not able to see the products right away. I think you can edit the logo to a smaller size. Moreover, the featured image seems not very suitable for your “clothing brand”. This might make the customer confused.

One more thing you should consider is the colour contrast. These blue icons look not quite visible. Also, the navigation bar should be placed on the same row to avoid messed-up look.

3. Products 

The products should be placed in a reasonable position. I just think if you let the space as in the screenshot hereby, it might cause disorder.

4. Introduction

If you can add an image in the background for those texts, it might look more interesting. Anyway, the content should be shorten with core values, you can use bullets if possible.

5. CTAs

The CTA here should be placed in a button. Furthermore, the images should be full width and related to your brand.

This should be placed in the centre of the page!

From my point of view, this sections should be exchanged in positions.

Sorry to hear you haven't been getting the sales you had hoped for. I've taken a look through your store, hopefully my feedback will provide some insight as to what is happening.

When you are choosing colors, fonts, the overall look and feel of your website, you have to put personal preference aside and instead design your website around what would appeal to your target audience. If you want to add pops of color, it's best to do it on things like buttons, link colors and your navigation bar. When you start changing background colors and font colors, it quickly becomes too much and starts taking away from where the focus should be - on your products.

Store design is a topic we covered in our free training that is happening right now. You can click the Facebook link in my signature to join in, check day 3 for the replay. 

Next, your homepage banner. That main banner area is prime real estate for selling. We recommend having a professional photo of your products, a title introducing your brand or product,  a line of text underneath that expands on your title and a call to action button such as "Shop Now". Here is an example:

The last thing I want to touch on for now are your products.

Because you are a POD store, I'd recommend looking into alternative products to print on that would give you better profit margins. Hoodies and tshirts tend to be pretty costly and then adding shipping costs on top of that - it doesn't leave much for you. Your only choice is to price your product higher but then you run the risk of being priced too high to the point where you aren't getting sales.

When searching, compare Gooten, Printify and Printful for the best price so that you can offer your audience a great price and still be able to make a decent profit as well.

When you sell something as saturated as clothing, the issue you run into is that these types of items can be already be purchased offline in hundreds retail stores as well as online through thousands and thousands of online stores. So when a person is searching for a hoodie or a tshirt in Google, these big companies with massive marketing budgets are who is showing up in search results and who you are competing with for customers. A person can complete IF they give people a reason to purchase from them vs. the other guys. An example of this might be someone who makes shirts locally, their "reason" as to why you should purchase from them vs the other guy is because they are local and a lot of people are passionate about shopping local. For you, your designs are unique but the problem is being found so I would definitely recommend getting a solid marketing strategy in place.

One last thing, you can expand your sales channels and promote your dropshipping products on Google Shopping using the AllFetch Google Shopping Feed app (it's free). It allows you to easily syncing your products from your Shopify store to the Google Merchant Center.
