Hi @sewdandie !

Congrats on your store and I wish you tons of happy customers!

I like the design and colors of your store. Good job :) I haven't seen such shops before on Shopify, so I guess, you do not have so many competitors.

First of all, please change your welcome image on the homepage. The text on it looks like it had been widened up in an incorrect way.

Work on your text fonts - they look not so professional.

Add social reviews - 90% of people read reviews before purchasing an item. I personally do not read the description too much, I go straight on to the reviews section because that is social proof. In my opinion that is essential for every site. I highly recommend (almost insist) and adding that feature on your site. You can use Growave for that, it offers automated emails within the Reviews feature as well.

Imagine if you saw something that you quite like in the store, however you want to browse more, get more options, and then choose the best one. That often happens to me, because I am indecisive. That is when Wishlist comes in handy. Since you have a lot of products on your site, I recommend adding that feature to improve the user experience on your site. Besides, if the items on the wishlist have not been purchased, automated emails will be sent out as a reminder.

Implement an opportunity to log in and sign up using Social Media account. We all have accounts at least in one social media. And if I have an opportunity to create an account just with one click, I will do it. having an easier way to Sign in will help you gather customer base. The most valuable thing for a company is the customer.

Run a referral program - let one user to share the link of your store with a close one, and get a reward for this. It will bring more conversion to you.

Instead of giving a discount for nothing, give them rewards for completing certain actions on your store ex. for creating accounts, for leaving a review, for sharing your site, for spending money on your site. It is not difficult for a user to do and you will get so many actions on your site, and you are having discounts anyway. With referral programs, it is important to carefully set up so that you are not giving huge discounts and not getting anything back. [I recommend using one by Growave because it is safe and it is integrated with 6 other marketing features (Reviews, Wishlist, Rewards, Social Login, Instagram, Discounts, Referral, VIP tiers) for better performance.

Hopefully, I managed to help you. If so, please let me know by liking this post.

Dear sewdandie,

Congratulations for your store!!

I’ve gone through your store and found that there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales. Here is a page-by-page/sectional review of your site:

  • Add Promotional banner on collection page - You can show images of featured, bestseller or popular products on the collection page banner. Example of Good Collection Page
  • Add Product filter for easy navigation - Categorize & filter products by their size, colour or type so users find product to product navigation easy.Example of Ideal Product Page
  • Header - Have a sticky header and a clear search bar to help users locate the products they're looking for. Example of Good Header
  • Over All Text , Font , Paragraph , Alignment , Spacing , Padding etc to make it more elegant - Make your store well-organized, neat and visually appealing and add to the user experience.
  • Add Testimonials at homepage - They add to the trust factor as when customers see what other buyers have to say about your products, it makes them more sure about your brand.
  • Index your product at Google
  • Do some basic SEO
  • Add blog section for traffic and low bounce rate
  • Try Google shopping and facebook ads

Hey Sew Dandie,

The store looks quite "well maintained".Just needs a minor brush up using the below-listed tips and apps mentioned as follows:

  • Include CTAs like "Shop Now" in the middle of the hero banner for better customer engagement.
  • "Trust badges" are a must on the homepage for better site authenticity.
  • You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  • Filters are very important for customers in order to identify the correct product from the huge catalog. So, you should look for advanced filter options for your store.
  • Finally, I would also recommend you to try Sparq product filters and search to replace the default search on your store, this app allows advanced custom tag product filters for collection pages, synonyms, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with the search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.
Check out the features live here

All the best!

Neha :)

Hello @sewdandie ,

I just had a look at your store, your store looks great. I have a few suggestions for you hope they might help you.

  • There are no trust badges at your checkout page, try adding them as trust badges help your customers know that your site is safe to shop.
  • I have found that there are only a few products in your store, try adding more products so that your customers will have a lot of options to select from.
  • Also, try adding SEO related high search keywords in your title and product description so that it will be very easy to market your products and display them at the top in google search.

I hope our feedback helps you.

Thanks,

Hello @sewdandie

Congratulations on your store page! I like the minimal theme that you have selected because it keeps the focus on the products themselves. Most things on the store have been done right. I saw a couple of things that could be made better though, so I thought I'd share them with you.

  1. On your homepage, make the top navigation bar fixed - even if the person scrolls down they should be able to navigate to the rest of the pages without having to go to the top.
  2. You can reduce the number of words in your list of collections, make it shorter and easier to read. For example, Other Sewing Accessories can be just - Accessories or Sewing Accessories. Similarly, I noticed you had an entire sentence to share the link of your blog. This is unnecessary because most people won't read it. Instead, you can just add a section in the footer that says Blog. This can be under Home, Shop, FAQ etc. Or you can also have it in the top nav bar.
  3. It helps sometimes to have a chat option in your store so that people can directly ping you with their questions. That way you are more likely to engage with with them while they are in your shop. This is just like how you would chat up with them if they were in your real life store.
  4. I think we could use a wishlist or an Add to Favourites button. This will allow you to send more targeted follow up emails to your shoppers and even notify them if you're running any offers or sales.
  5. You could add some kind of urgency by adding stickers or labels to highlight things like sale/trending/free shipping. The Shopify app store is source of some really good apps that can add this kind of a focus to your store. I added one below which I thought might look good. What do you think? You can always look up more styles here.
