Launched store at start of year. Made a few sales so far, but really wanting to find out what I can do to prevent bounces from home page. Using FB and Instagram for marketing at present.

Any feedback would be really appreciated. Don't worry - be honest, I can take it :)

Here are some ways to make your store even better and make people want to purchase.

Homepage Feedback

    1. Carousels have been proven to kills conversions rates ...limit how much you use the one on your site. No one is going to wait around to see what is on each sliders

    2. Not everyone will want to order from a print on-demand company. Have to keep that in mind as you do your marketing

Product Page Feedback

    1. Add links to your return/refund policy on each product page as you do for shipping

    2. Move the sizing chart information off your product pages and make a new page for this. That way you can link to it from your product pages and in the footer. This will clean up your page and make it look more professional

    3. Make sure each product has 3 - 5 images as that will help someone decide if they want to purchase.

    4. Add a longer product description as this is how you convince someone to buy on your site. Plus it helps with SEO and ranking in organic search

    5. Add a section at the bottom of product pages to show your most viewed/bought items from the site. This can help increase your average order value

Hi Mike_Little,

  • The favicon: Your store doesn't have a favicon at the moment. A favicon is a small square image or logo that appears on the browser tabs, as well as on browser pages that list web addresses, such as the bookmarks page. It helps strengthen your brand and to add a polished look to your website. Here's how you can add a favicon to your store.
  • I noticed that you have a newsletter subscription box. I would suggest adding a bonus (such as a discount code) to entice your site visitor to sign up.
  • No related product list. It is very helpful in improving your cross sales so i suggest provide featured collections or related product list.

Yeah some great points. Definitely removing the carousel immediately.

Listen to @DuaneBrown and remove that carousel. Desktop users got bored with them 15 years ago. Mobile users being shown a carousel is like an armrest ashtray you occasionally notice while boarding a flight. You can't help but ask yourself why they just don't remove them if nobody will ever use them again.

There's a bigger problem though. The carousel is occupying the space where your logo should be. If your organic traffic, or, even worse, your paid traffic, is coming through the front door, that's a severe brand discontinuity. You need the logo there to help users get oriented as soon as the page starts loading. It's important to assure them that they're in the right place. Users are quick to bail if they feel like something's off. If you don't connect the dots for them, it won't matter how fancy your ashtray is because they're not going to use it.

Hi Mike_Little,

I hope your store is now settled and you are rolling with sales :)

I can see that you are using default search for Shopify which is pretty basic considering that it shows empty result page even for simple search queries, for eg. which is a standard typing error anyone can make.

Improving your search experience has shown to improve conversion rates and reduce the bounce rate for your visitors.

We help improve the default search by replacing it with Sparq Search. Sparq search drastically improves the search experience by showing results with every keystroke, making it easier for users to discover and purchase products faster. We also provide advance filters such as collection, tags, price filters which allows users to navigate items easily.

A comparative study between Shopify search and Sparq search is available at
