Trouble creating traffic

Hi everyone, new to Shopify and decided I wanted to try it out. Recently launched my site meant for the outdoors type niche. I’m having trouble driving traffic to my store. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. www.mountaintopinnovation.myshopify.com

Hey Mountaintopinnovation,
     Reviewing your store helped me to conclude that it is quite amazing and close to perfect. It has everything at its place from top to bottom but surely you can work on few aspects mentioned down below which will help you in settling UI and overall functionality which will build trust for visitors and eventually drive you a lot better sales.

 

  1. I would love to see an Account login/sign-in system, as it is a must for an eCommerce.
  2. Add some more social links like facebook etc for better connectivity.
  3. For some sales at the start, you need to offer some discounts to get going as a promotional offer.
    Also, it would be great if you can create a seperate sale page for discounted products.

  4. Please add some blogs for better clarity.
  5. Also, You have ample of products and sure you might add a few more as its just a start for your visitor might feel hard to find the right product.
    Also, your search page is a bit off and empty https://mountaintopinnovation.myshopify.com/search?q=Don't you think if suggestions are offered to the searchbar, there will be a lot of chances for a visitor to buy from your store?
    I would recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.

Home Page: I'd flow this little better. 

  • Slideshow Image (best image only) 
  • Collection List 
  • Testimonials 
  • Popular Products (4-8 Max) 
  • Something Interesting 
  • Instagram Feed (only if you have good images) 

 

Product Page: This need a lot of work. I'd add 

  • Detailed descriptions (ali Express description is know good) 
  • Product Tabs 
  • Sticky Add To Cart 
  • Similar Products 
  • Testimonials and/or Reviews 

 

Checkout: Add logo. Not having logo here kills conversions.

As I see you have everything done what an idol eCommerce store must-have, the only thing you lack is engagement tools. You can use a lot more things to capture and captivate your traffic.

  1. Make use of pop-ups to greet your customers. I would personally recommend you to go for a 45-sec-pop-up at the entry. Conversion rates for pop-ups are high and the most surprising discovery is that the pop up doesn't increase bounce rate at all. This is ample time for your audience to get hooked by your content, whilst also being quick enough to catch skimmers before they leave.

  2. I would recommend you to add a review button on your homepage so that every new visitor can get a glance. Create an engaging and interactive website- Engaged and loyal customers, can lead to an increase and repeat sales and also eventually lower down your cost of acquisition.

  3. Make use of push notifications, which allows you to send push notifications in real-time to the user's browser. Engage customers will lead to an increase in repeat customers.

  4. Chatbots in your business is that they save time. For instance, when used on your website they can provide fast, automated answers to most questions. This will engage your customers and prevent customers from waiting for a day or longer to receive responses as they would have in the past.

  5. You can add loyalty points and referrals, it increases repeat purchase and customer lifetime value with points and rewards that give customers more reasons to return to your store. Encourage them to Share and Refer their friends to your store. It will help you to collect & display customer reviews, photos, and Q&A, to increase your trust as well as conversion rate. This will help in engaging your visitors and converting them into paying customers.

  6. Send welcome emails, start a welcome series, based on customer activities on your store. Send Broadcast Emails campaigns to anyone on your list when you need to talk to everyone at once. Automatically trigger emails when your customers are most interested based on the purchase, or site visits, or engagement. Or the way they interact with your brand. Group your audience into segments based on almost any factor so that the right message gets to the right person.

You need to focus more on customer engagement and retention part. Engagement helps to capture visitors and convert them into customers. There is no engagement in your store. No matter how good you work on your store you won't be making money out of it unless you make your website engaging. Engagement helps to capture visitors and convert them into customers. Really good job on launching your store. I think there isn't a ton to change, but I'm going to nitpick anyways, because there is always room for improvement :D.

 

Did you think about adding a FAQ section. If your customer can't find an answer to their questions they may not buy from you. Adding an FAQ section will help to add trust, and make it so your customer doesn't need to leave your site, to find an answer to their question.

 

You might consider adding reviews. It would be good to add reviews for your products. Think about it when was the last time you bought a product without reading the reviews first? I think you should definitely add some reviews.

 

One thing to consider is adding a blog. Adding a blog to your site would help to increase SEO on your site.

 

You might consider adding a sense of urgency. By using urgency, you can make your visitors feel like they are missing out unless they order immediately. The 'Fear of Missing Out' that they experience, will increase your ability to convert them into buyers. One app that can help you with that is https://apps.shopify.com/better-countdown . It really can make a big difference in getting your customers to buy from you

 

After browsing your store I noticed I wasn't able to find an always visible buy button. Your buy button is the most important button on your site and it should always be within the thumbs reach of the customer. Take a look at your store (especially on your phone), and try to easily find your buy button, especially when you are on the bottom of the page. If your buy button isn't always visible you are making it harder for your customer to buy. Consider adding https://apps.shopify.com/better-sticky-checkout-button-increase-your-sales , it will help it make it easier for your customer to buy from you.
