We love giving feedback for new sites!

Hello all new Shopify owners!

We here at Hivewyre initialy were going directly to new sites owner's posts, who were looking for feedback. and hopefully giving useful input on ways to improve their online ecommerce businesses - from the overall look of the site, functionality, marketing ideas, content, etc. We were getting great joy out of helping new ecommerce businesses get their sea-legs, so to speak.

So about two months ago now, we decided instead of just searching out sites who are looking for feedback, we thought it may be easier if new site owners (or current ones) just came to us. All you need to do is reply to this this thread with your URL and we'll give you our two-cents. This is not an original idea at all, but we are not too proud to say when a good idea is, well...just damn good!

So send us your URLs and we'll get this party started!

Oh, who are we? We are Hivewyre - an ecommerce data co-op in Scottsdale, Arizona.

"What the heck is that?" you ask. This white paper will clarify what we do in a digestable format.

Look, we are not trying to sell you anything, promise. We understand that many of the sites within Shopify are new and smaller companies, which are looking to build their business with a reasonable budget.

This is why we created an absolutely FREE Shopify App called Market Insights. This is a completely free analytics tool, which allows you to compare your site's performance to other sites within the same online retail segment. How do we do that? With what is called second-party data and being part of a data co-op - which is explained here in this blog post.

We wish you the best with your new or current ecommerce business and we are happy to give you our insights into how to improve your site or maketing with no obligation whatsoever...

I know, we are that cool :-)

Postscript - July 14, 2016 - We've gotten a lot of responses on this thread and simply could not keep up with all the submissions, but the Shopfiy community is so awesome that many are jumping into help other sites with feedback. We still are giving feedback, but just not at break neck pace we were doing originally. There is a lot of good info on here, so we'd encourage you to look at all of the feedback that's been given so far, which may spark an idea or question for you.

Al the best,

Hello. I too can certainly use some honest feedback! Good traffic but little purchases.

Thank you very much!

  1. Logo and store name
  2. color scheme
  3. I like that you give your opinion in your description on the products - like Felt Glue
  4. Not too sure you should bring customers away from your site by clicking on teh "color chart" - https://busylittlebird.com/collections/dmc-floss/products/dmc-embroidery-floss-choose-25-embroidery-... - which brings them to dmc-usa.com, which looks like another ecommerce site. Is this site related to you (or is this some sort of affiliate program?)

Areas of opportunity

  1. There's no hyper-links under "Say Hellow and Follow Along" on the homepage
  2. Font size on the prices is a bit too small on the category page - price size is fine on the actual individual product page
  3. I like your blogs, but you need to blog more often (weekly, at least, if you can).
  4. Could you embed the Youtube Dandelyne mini hoops video on your site instead of having people leave yours?

Overall, I like the site, just keep in mind that you want to keep people on your site and not send them other places where they can "go down the rabbit hole" and never return to purchasing on yours.

Good luck!
