Hey guys,

My site is moonlingsupply.com

I’m getting great traffic with Pinterest and google ads but no conversions. We had 270 visitors yesterday and no sales. What am I doing wrong??

Cal here from Shopify, thanks for reaching out to us. You've done some really great work on the site, and you should be proud of the work done so far. There are a couple of areas I'd like to dip into, the first being site improvements, and the second being the marketing end. 

 

Site Critique

  • I'd love to know more about your business, and chances are so would your customer! Your About Us is quite minimal, so could do with fleshing out. There should be a mission statement on the landing page, THIS is who we are, and THIS is what we deliver. 
  • Your product niche is quite broad, is this intentional? General stores are hard to market, and as the saying goes on new stores: if you try to sell everything, you will sell nothing. Narrowing your scope could be something worth considering! 
  • Get some peer reviews and testimonials from others who have tried your products and loved them on your landing page. Just a little quote here and there really adds to the customers' experience.  
  •  Add a FAQ page so you pre-emptively answer any of your customers' tough questions. 
  • Add you social links to your footer. 

 

Marketing

  • Who is your target demographic? 
  • What are their behaviors and interests? 
  • Have you created marketing personas for them? 
  • How are you currently driving this traffic to the store? If you are receiving traffic, but people are instantly clicking off, it's the wrong traffic. Not all traffic is equal, and it sounds like you are not hitting the correct audience with your efforts thus far.

Hi,  

I have gone through your site. Though it looks good, there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales.

 

Logo & Favicon :

Logo & Favicon -- Your logo should highlight your brand name. Add a favourite icon so users can locate your webpage easily.

 

HEADER & FOOTER :

  1. Header -- Have a sticky header and a clear smart search bar to help users locate the products they're looking for.Also a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator must have features. Login icon must be there for buyer account creation before purchasing.
  2. Footer -- Optimize your footer with more professional and functional look and also highlight your newsletter sign up so people who follow your brand will receive more updates about promotions and sales. There are legal policy pages which are missing in the footer that must be included for authenticity and security purpose

 

HOMEPAGE :

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive.

  1. Banners & Branding -- Add hero banner with prompt CTA buttons that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc
  2. Color, Font & Branding -- Over All Text, Font , Paragraph , Alignment , Spacing , Padding etc should be more elegant so that your store looks well-organized, neat and visually appealing. Maintain the same or similar colors and fonts throughout your store to keep your  branding intact 
  3. Featured Collection -- Add all the top featured collection on the homepage so users know the type of products you're selling on your store.
  4. Featured / Bestseller products -- Engage your customers by letting them know the bestseller products on your store                                     
  5. Testimonials -- They add to the trust factor as when customers see what other buyers have to say about your products, it makes them more sure about your brand.
  6. Highlight your USP -- What's unique about your brand that none of the other Shopify merchants have? This needs to be highlighted in your store presentation, features & more.
  7. Trust Badge on Home Page -- This is important as this helps to build trust and assures your customers that your brand is authentic

 

COLLECTION PAGE :

Your customer views this page to have an in-depth view of the products and services you offer.

  1. Banner adding on Collection page -- Make your collection page stand out with interesting & creative collection banners
  2. Product filter for easy navigation -- Categorize & filter products by their size, color or type so users find product to product navigation easy.
  3. Product Label -- Product labels like % off, ‘New Arrival’, ‘Sold Out’ must be there must be there for the ease of the buyer
  4. Product Showcasing -- Clear product title and description , high quality images , reviews , related products , color swatch function, grey effect for sold out products , product labels . All these features make your store much more convenient, authentic, easy to use and user friendly.

PRODUCT PAGE :

  1. Features like custom swatches, product zoom in, product reviews, unique product titles/descriptions and  cart drawer that will make your product page more interactive and user-friendly.

1. Add social media links in the follow us section in the footer to build a social media proof. You can add Instafeed on the homepage, it will make your store look more professional.

2. You should also display the collection on the homepage in an attractive way.

3. You should make your store interactive and engaging by adding a loyalty reward program, live chatbot, Customized newsletter pop-up, web push notifications, countdown timer. These are some essential marketing tools that will help in increasing the conversion rate. It helps in enticing customers and convert them into paying customers. 

If your store is engaging then it will help you to reduce Customer Churn Rate i.e percentage of customers who stop purchasing from your brand and will also increase your customer retention.

After the analysis of your Shopify Store, I have come to the conclusion that you are not able to convert most of the sellers because of the Homepage of your website even though you have such great products.

 

Here are a few points which need urgent attention as per my Analysis of your website.

 

Home Page Analysis:

  • Navigation is properly setup. This makes the website professional and authentic. Hence, creates a positive impact on the Visitor.
  • I see a lot of spacing issues though.Screenshot (13).png
  • You can add some good quotes on the Banner Images with a CTA button to increase the engagement on your website.
  • Add Price starting from below every Product Category.Screenshot (14).png
  • Add Best Selling items on your HomePage as well along with a Discounted Price to increase conversion.

 

Collection Page:

  • The collection page is good. You just need to add Discounted Pricing with every product as this creates urgency in the visitor's mind and makes them grab the deal as fast as possible.

Product Page:

  • Product Page is very basic. Screenshot (16).png

Checkout Page Analysis:

  • Checkout page loading time is very high which can also be a reason for not attaining sales.

You can also add Privy which is the most downloaded app on Shopify and works on reducing cart abandonment and exit intent pop-ups.

I love the products in your store. I am a big fan of Organic & Natural body care products. I was wondering if you are still taking suggestions for your store. 

As @MS_WEB_DESIGNER was saying, you need product badges to attract customer attention to your products. Whether you’re running a sale, launching new products on your store, or some of your products are out-of-stock, you can add a product badge suiting the requirement and theme of your store.

Also, one tiny suggestion, I think you should highlight that your products are Earth-friendly too. Add “Organic”, “Vegan”, “100% Natural”, “Eco-friendly” badges on your products. This little tweak will definitely help you boost your sales. You also might end up earning some loyal customers too. Something like this maybe:
