feedback on my website experience

I personally think my website is nice and easy to use, but conversions have been very low so i am reaching out for advice. for anyone who checks it out, keep in mind my customer base is mostly women aged 30-45++ so try to imagine it from their perspective.

one other thing to note is I have tremendous feedback from my facebook page and ads. i've had posts with half a dozen shares in under 30 minutes, other posts with 70+ reactions and shares. ( non boosted ) i have 1300 followers (around 60$ in ad spent) anyway i know this isnt enough because somewhere between positive product reactions and the checkout page there is a disconnect.

I've had some time to review your store and have a few things that I'd recommend looking into that could help with your conversions. For starters, I'd recommend adding a drop-down menu to showcase your collections on your main navigation as this will greatly improve your customer experience. As it stands, you have an option to view all collections from the homepage, however, this can cause a higher bounce rate as your site isn't easily navigated from other pages. To provide some context, the quicker your customer can go from point A to point B and start the checkout process, the higher chance you'll have of converting them. 

That said, when I was looking over the rest of your homepage, I'd suggest looking into more appropriate color schemes that will make a more welcoming experience. Shopify has a pretty stellar blog post titled "Color of Psychology Marketing" which I think fits perfectly with getting the right colors setup on your page.

I'd also recommend adding a text area to your homepage (near the top) that explains your goals and why you offer the products you do. This will allow your customers to understand who you are at a quick glance vs having to read over the About Us page. For both your homepage and your About Us page. I'd suggest watching Simon Sineks "Start with Why" video as this helps you better understand how to properly articulate why people should purchase from you.

Your store was great looking. I have few suggestions on your store. I hope this helpful for you.
You can add your store refund policy on home page, It helps for to increasing of your sales.
Where your visitors find your store contact details? I suggest you can add your store contact page, It is an absolute necessity to provide the most fundamental information to prospective customers in the most efficient way possible: a “Contact Us” page.

I agree with Peter regarding the navigation/drop down menu. When a visitor clicks on the Catalog page, they are being faced with a challenge of scrolling through 20 pages. In terms of UX [user experience], that’s a serious inconvenience, that can certainly affect your conversion rate. People don’t like to click too much when shopping online - in fact, the fewer clicks a visitor has to make to complete the purchase, the better. Aim to reduce the clicks on every step. You can do it by simplifying the store navigation and adding sub-categories. Make sure that each category has max. 4 pages, no more. This alone can make your store user-friendly and more likely to convert.

You do have collections here: so perhaps link to this page from the Catalog in the top menu.

Your collection page has got a great layout and you have really beautiful items. I’d recommend showing the latest collection on the homepage - you can perhaps show the fall collection now, and then change to a winter or Christmas collection. It will make your website feel more up to date and will invite people to browse.

Consider also having a featured promo image on your homepage - to make stronger first impression. It will help you engage with the visitors right away and encourage them to browse further, which will reduce your bounce rate. You can create a promo image with one of your current products, like this one:

Link then the image to the Fall collection to increase the click through rate.

Product page looks ok, and I’d recommend looking into changing the color of your add to cart button, the purple doesn’t really go with the green of your header area, and the design doesn’t prompt visitors to click it.

The best colors for the button are: red, yellow and orange, as these are visual CTAs [calls to action] prompting action: a click. Changing the button color can also help you boost sales. Find complimenting color using this color wheel: You can paste in the hex code of the green from the header [find it in your theme template] and this tool will generate best complimenting colors for it. See the example below:

Consider also optimizing your product page further by adding related products section. It will help you improve the customer journey [sales funnel] and the time spent on your website, which is a big Google ranking factor. It will also help you improve your sales - through cross-selling. You can add related products to your Shopify product template by following this simple video guide:

Make sure to add trust signals as well: Shipping policy, returns policy and a contact us page. These can also help you improve your conversion rate. Many online shoppers often look for this info before placing an order, to find out the shipping cost, so having this page easy to find can also help you boost your conversion rate.

Social media icons - consider opening them in new tabs, so you don’t lose traffic from your own website.

Your social media profiles look excellent.

You have plenty of amazing content on your website, and all you need to boost sales is to display it more effectively on your website, and to get as much relevant traffic as possible. Make sure to promote your website organically [no paid ads], as with a niche like yours, the grassroot approach is best. You need to create connections first, build your branding, and your presence and connect with the vintage/rustic home decor collectors.

Thank you all for the thorough feedback. I appreciate the time it takes for you to review my store and write down a response. I went over everything and it's matching with some other feedback I have gotten. I am making changes this evening and i  will reply to this thread again when its done.
