It seems that our "add to cart" button loads extremely slow on most of our product pages.
Note that we are a registered non-profit and our "products" are simply donations that allow users to choose from different reforestation projects around the world.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
It does seems like that the "add to cart" takes time to appear but that's not the real problem. There are some blocking scripts that is making your product page to load very slowly.
Some of them are:
https://onetreeplanted2.freshsales.io/track/visit.json failed to load
https://flow.octoboard.com:30443/in/api/v1/traffic/events 429 (Too Many Requests)
Also the handlebars v4.0.5 is throwing errors.
You need to contact your developer or your theme provider to fix all these.
It looks like the reason is a file called rcWidget.css is setting the button to be hidden during page load... then something triggers it to change to visible during page load:
It might be by design, maybe you have an app that requires other script(s) to load before the add to cart button can work, but if that's the case I would show the button but just don't make it clickable until those assets are finished loading.
I ran that page through the Shopify Analyzer - a free tool my team built for the Shopify community - the page is quite heavy and has multiple performance issues:
