We have successfully launched our shop in my country "Oman" that help people shop for all their necessary requirements while staying at home. With that we partnered with may store retailers whom shops are closed and currently we are accepting two main payment methods Credit Card and COD.
With that said both Shopify and Paypal payments gateways are not working in my country. I stuck with third party payments which charge me 3%+50c and 1% by Shopify.
Alternatively banks in Oman offers local payment gateways for local Debit Cards which they charge only 1% to 1.5%. However I am not able to see any option available to add such payment option. This is very important for us as we rely on 8-10% margin for profit and half of that can go away the moment someone paid using the existing credit card payment methods.
To put it simply, my request is: How can I add a local Debit Card payment gate way that my bank can help offer. Here is a link to the e-payment gateway that I am referring to: https://www.ita.gov.om/ITAPortal/Pages/Page.aspx?NID=7&PID=5249&LID=14
Hi there @Abdullah_Jailan!
Don here from Shopify.
If your Shopify store is based in Oman, you would be able to choose from the following payment gateways which have made integrations with their services available there.
If there is a payment method you wish to use which is not available there, you can look into how you might add that to your store as a manual payment method.
Using this method, you would need to manually mark orders as being paid when you can verify that you have gotten the payment from your customer.
You would be able to leave instructions for how this works and any steps or links your customers would need to use when setting up this manual payment method.
Check out the guide above, think about how you would implement this for this payment method, and see if this would work for your specific needs.
If you are in Oman, you cannot directly link with your bank account. You need to go for 3rd party local payment gateways. PayTabs is one of the good option. Many of our client's from Oman use PayTabs and Taps.
You need to register with them and get the API details and add to the payment settings.
