Okay, this is totally frustrating the holy crap out of me and I assume several drop shipper Ecommerce Owners out there as well. Why can’t Shopify OR a 3rd Party come up with an easier way to customize the shipping portion of their platform? The answer is ALWAYS, we’ll let our design team know about your request, but it’s either falling on deaf ears or Shopify just doesn’t really care about the needs of their customers? As a drop ship Ecommerce site, it’s imperative that we keep our pricing competitive and with the tight margins, accurate shipping rates our imperative!
Maybe Tobias Lütke should get down and dirty in the trenches and work harder to improve the flexibility of his limited Ecommerce platform?
Thanks so much for reaching out, its always appreciated! The shopify platform is built to accommodate the basic needs of most users most of the time. Anything else could result in a very complicated platform for the common merchant. But with apps from the app store and even private integrations through the API, you are generally able to create whatever you need!
It seems like you require a feature that the current version of our platform doesn't yet offer, its not that Shopify don't care about your needs, rather that we provide the means for you to build your own solution if you don't see what you are looking for in our app store or docs!
