Bank State branch number Australia

Hi there, 

 

I'd just like to know how I should go about hooking up my Suncorp bank account to my Shopify account. I live in Australia and it says my bank state branch number is invalid. Why is this?

The specific requirements for the bank account that is used for your Shopify Payments payouts are outlined in our Help Doc here.

 

Therefore, could you please confirm the following:

 

  • Suncorp is a physical bank located in Australia
  • Your bank account is a full checking account in AUD currency
  • The account is able to accept BECS transfers
  • The Bank State Branch number being entered, is 6-digits long

 

If your account meets all of the requirements above and you are still not able to connect, please let me know. I’m here to help get this resolved for you.

I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble connecting your bank account to your Shopify Payments account too. I’m here to help.

 

Have you already confirmed that your account fits the requirements listed in my post above?

 

To define some items in that list more specifically, these types of bank accounts can result in an error message when trying to connect, because they are not able to receive payouts through Shopify Payments:

 

  • Payoneer Accounts or other systems that mimic a bank account in another country
  • Savings Accounts
  • Flex Currency or any other type of speciality account
  • Accounts set up to only receive wire transfers

 

Let me know if your bank account fulfills all of the requirements, and I will continue to investigate this for you.

Hi I’m having an issue where the bank state branch number is invalid. My bank reaches all requirements yet still shopify is not allowing me to enter my number.

I also cannot connect my bank, I am with Suncorp and it meets all the requirements but saying that my BSB is invalid

Hi I’m also having difficulty adding my bank branch number to my account, I’ve tried several times and have my currency on AUS.

Can anyone help me out with this please ( I’m with Bank sa)

As a first step, please confirm that your account meets the requirements outlined in my post 01-17-2020 (see screenshot below). If you aren’t entirely sure your account fulfills the requirements, please contact Bank SA directly to have them check, and/or make the appropriate changes.

If your bank account does meet the above criteria, and you are still receiving an error message pertaining to the branch number, we’re happy to take a closer look at it. We’ll need to access your account in order to do so.
