To define some items in that list more specifically, these types of bank accounts can result in an error message when trying to connect, because they are not able to receive payouts through Shopify Payments:

As a first step, please confirm that your account meets the requirements outlined in my post 01-17-2020 (see screenshot below). If you aren’t entirely sure your account fulfills the requirements, please contact Bank SA directly to have them check, and/or make the appropriate changes.
If your bank account does meet the above criteria, and you are still receiving an error message pertaining to the branch number, we’re happy to take a closer look at it. We’ll need to access your account in order to do so. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback.
