We have been getting complaints from international customers about high shipping rates and have an example that came in this morning.
Our products and boxes all have weights assigned to them and rates are all set to calculated shipping for international customers.
Can someone give us a little help on how this can be happening?
Thank you for the reply, so yes our default box is set to 14x7x4" it is set that way because our most popular product requires that box.
We add no % or flat rate.
That brings up a good point, so if you have more that one product, and you ship domestically (in the USA) and internationally how would you get past the default box size? It seems like Shopify should allow you to set a default box size for each product, that would make more sense than on default box. Is there a way to do that?
At this current moment, the only thing that will allow you to add boxes for each product will be an app like boxify: https://apps.shopify.com/boxify
Otherwise, you will have to fine a middle ground with the box size.
I do hope that a feature later comes into place to add dimensions to the products. Until then, those are our only options available to us sellers.
The answer is yes, we tried the app and dicussed at length with the developer and it all came dow to that.
You have to direct connect with 3rd party shiping and bam there goes your discount. It was higher to send ussing the app so we dropped it.
We just choose a medium box on our store and manually go in and tweak prices on certain shipping items.
