Can't check out due to check out method

Hi there,

I recently put up my store so it's not yet live. I tried to purchase a test product but can't seem to check out. I've attached a print screen of the error I'm getting and it says I can't check out due to my shipping method. 

I'm planning to do the shipping on my own terms so not work with a carrier. 

Does someone know if the check out problem is related to the fact that i'm not using Fedex or UPS?

Very unlikely to be related to that.

I would assume that your have not finished setting up your shipping options in the Admin. So you might be shipping to a country that you haven't set rates for, or perhaps the item exceeds the rates you have set.

You cannot checkout because there are no shipping methods selected in the cart/checkout page. In order to proceed with checkout, there should be at least a single shipping method. If you do not want to show calculated rates, then you can atleast show Free Shipping on your own customised conditions and then proceed with the order. Conditions like total price of order, total quantity of items in cart, total weight of order, Product type, number of products in a box, etc can be easily configured with the Multi Carrier Shipping label app. Hence 'Free Shipping' or flat rates on condition can be achieved easily.
