Can we hold or extend a credit card authorization?

I have a use case where some goods are not ready to be shipped for 10 or even up to 30 days.  The authorization sometimes falls off for these orders and  I have to call the customer and arrange for payment. 

Is there some way to reauthorize a card every 7 days?

When it comes to Shopify, there wouldn't be a way to do that natively, however, if you're using a third party payment gateway, you can try reaching out to them directly to see if there's any workaround they can offer outside of Shopify!

Alternatively, there are some apps that might help here! These are apps that let you accept orders while deferring payment. Check these out: 

It's good to keep in mind that these are apps created by third party companies, meaning that they weren't created by Shopify. So if you have questions about them, your best bet is to use the support information listed on the App's page!
