Edit Payment Status

We migrated a website from Volusion to Shopify and used a service to migrate all the old orders, but since Shopify doesn't have any transaction for the orders, they all say the Payment Status as Pending. Does anyone know of any workaround to update that status in bulk or even at all?

I found an old forum post about using the API to issue transaction just don't know if that is still possible or how to go about doing that to these imported orders.

We would also be open to any apps that could do this or even creating a custom app ourselves if their was actually someway to update the payment status via the API.

Thanks for posting your query here on our merchant forums and for providing as much info as you did. :)

I've checked in with our tech team here who confirmed that it should be possible to bulk mark all these orders as paid using the API.

However, we're not able to provide API support from here ourselves so you would need to find someone to help you set this up for you.

If you have a developer on staff then you might be able to create a private application using our API guides as a starting point.

As we're not qualified to provide developer-level support from here ourselves, you can refer to our API forums if you need somewhere to ask questions about how this would work.

If you'd prefer to get an experienced specialist to take care of this then you can look into hiring an Expert Developer to work on creating this app for you.

So, it should be possible to do what you need; though it will just take a little API work and customisation behind the scenes.

Don, thanks for the great info. Unfortunately, I have come to find that since our orders were generated by an API not by the Shopify interface, that means the payment status can't be change. I have been through the API documents and even setup Postman to run some API command, but did confirm that it wouldn't let me update the Payment Status.

So unless you know of a workaround for this particular situation, you can go ahead and close this topic. Thanks again.
