Error when exceeding weight settings

Hello everyone,

I am currently trying to set up my shipments by weight. I thought that when exceeding the weight settings it would automatically add another parcel and its respective shipping fee to the total amount to check out, but when I actually tested it I got the following message:

"The item you added doesn’t ship to your location. Remove it to check out, or contact the store. We don’t offer shipping to Japan. "

Is there a way to set up the system to automatically add another shipment to the order and its respective shipping fee? If the order is below the weght settings everything is calculated perfectly.

As you have experienced, when exceeding the weight settings Shopify would not automatically add another parcel and its respective shipping fee to the total amount to check out since it does not support multiple packages.

If you are open to using an app, the Multi Carrier Shipping Label app would be the perfect solution. With the weight-based packing method in the app, you can set up a maximum weight for packages. If this maximum weight is exceeded, a new package is automatically added until all the products are packed. You can check out this guide for a detailed understanding of this process.
