Seting up our very first Shopify store.
So I successfully intergrated our FedEx account in Shopify, and FedEx real time rates now show up in our checkout for customers, and orders now show the amount and shipping method the customer purchased within the order itself in the shopify backend.
How on earth does one print shipping labels within Shopify for FedEx to fullfill these orders? I see they only have a shipping label section of "their (shopifys)" USPS account. I really shouldnt have to pay for a 3rd party app to print shipping labels with FedEx, if shopify has the ability to intergrate FedEx within the platform itself already.
Now if someone tells me that there is no way to do it (by batch, if we have 100's of orders daily) wihout a 3rd party app.....Shopify was a poor choice for us to go with and id be heavily disapointed.
Im slowly starting to see the costs of Shopify adding up quickly with the need of all these 3rd party apps, cause "out of the box", shopify platform doesnt do much and just seems like its a glorified ETSY and not a true ecommerce solution.
PLEASE, someone shed some light on me....and let me know that there is a way to easily batch print FedEx shipping labels without having to pay for yet another 3rd party app.
You can generate FedEx labels for your orders in Shopify either manually from the FedEx website or by using different solutions available in Shopify.
Generating FedEx labels manually will take a lot of time since you have to enter the complete order details for each order and then print the label.
Another way is to generate the labels by using different SaaS solutions like Shipstation or StorePep. The orders you get in your store are pulled into these solutions and then, you can generate labels and handle the shipping.
The final and the simplest way is to use an integrated Shopify app like the FedEx Rates, Labels and Tracking app to generate the FedEx label directly from your Shopify store. The app also helps in handling the complete FedEx shipping process.
At this point, there is no direct way to print FedEx Shipping labels from Shopify as they are not integrated with FedEx. The best way is to go with an app that operates within Shopify. I can understand your reluctance to pay extra just for one carrier. Many other store owners have also mentioned this in the forums and hopefully in the future, Fedex should come out with something. If cost if a concern, you can take a decision to use a solution that would handle multiple carriers as there are some special services like signature option, insurance which are yet not available in the existing integration. If such is your thought process, you can try the Multi Carrier Shipping label app.
