Is there a way to set a fixed price for shop items in selected currencies?
I have seen previous posts but no solutions offered.
My Shopify account is an Australian based account, so all payments default to AUD and final payment shown in AUD.
I have a currency converter setup that uses geolocation to switch to the users' currency based on their location and final payment shown in AUD.
That then takes the AUD price, applies a conversion rate, and display the price in your local currency.
So if the item is $29.95 AUD, depending on the conversion the price in the local currency varies ie Euro / USD
But I don't want that.
I want the price in USD and other currencies to be fixed i.e. USD $24.95 - regardless of the exchange rate based on market research not currency conversion
I want to do this for USD, GBP and EURO.
Is there a way I can do that or a plugin I can use?
Hi @surfsleeves,
Nick here from Shopify.
Great question. Just to confirm one thing I wasn't 100% clear about in your question. Do you mean the ability to be able to have all prices end in the same way such as $29.99 and then €27.99 for example or do you mean to able to actually dictate the price you want for other currencies? You wouldn't be able to custom set different prices for the same products in different currencies as it still must be conducive to the exchange rate, but you can round up or change how the price ends to make it look neater should you wish.
Which currency app are you using at the moment? One app I do like which I feel can get you as close to this as possible is Currency Converter Plus which you can see here as well as all of the others in the Shopify App Store here.
Hope this helps!
All the best, Nick

No problem at all @surfsleeves.
Adjusting and dictating the prices like you are looking to do is something we wouldn't recommend. One reason for this is that customers can still only checkout in one currency at the checkout which would then charge the customer the original price in your native currency. Your best bet for something like this would be to have another store with the other currency set at the price you would like.
I hope that makes sense and answers your query better.

Hi @kentaroyamada,
Shopify Multi-currency is currently a feature which is available, but you must be using Shopify Payments in order to enable it. You can read more about multi-currency here as well as see the countries where Shopify Payments is available below:

I was looking for the exact same thing and I found this
They have a way to work this out.

Hey @chegar thanks for the post. We are on shopify payments and looking exactly for this function to dictate prices in multiple currencies and check out in those currencies. Any tips on the work around you've found would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and all the best. Nick
