Fulfillment Notification Incorrect

New to Shopify and trying to sort through a couple of glitches.

I had two orders now that are both POD but for multiple items with different providers.  Submitted the orders and one item was printed and shipped with others still in production.  However, the notification that was sent with the fulfillment indicated that the entire order was fulfilled and shipped.  Thankfully, I caught it and followed up with an email indicating that we were diligently working on fulfilling the remaining order.  However, how do I prevent that from happening in the future?  I can't group providers, unfortunately.  

I'd really love to not have to do a manual email each time - AND provide relevant information on a partially shipped order.
