Good point Joanne6. I am also thinking of moving to a different website provider who offers a better shipping solution.

We also have this issue and is costing us sales on a daily basis.    We really need this to be a native option.    We are a florist who also sell other items and our customers end up paying the shipping rate for flowers and also the shipping rate for all other items....   This is nuts.

There must be another workaround..   For instance... can a discount be set up that equals the secondary shipping rate once a customer adds a second item to their cart?

Same problem here.

We have a rate for orders up to a set weight, and next size up flat rate $4.50. Then I have one for if a customer selects a product which is a liquid, and it has to be shipped in a box $8.-

If a customer selects and product, and a liquid, it will combine the two rates and create a shipping charge of $12.50. No good! What can I do to make it work in the mean time? Does anyone have any bright ideas please?

I ended up putting a condition on my item which makes the shipping cost
really low when its combined with other items. You and I have a similar
situation I think.

I set conditions as price. If the order price goes above the cost of the
item with the cheaper shipping it will go down to $1 and be added to the
shipping cost of the other items which is weight based.

I hope this helps!

Please elaborate. What tools allow you to vary price like that

Some of my products are printed matter and can hence be posted cheaper here
in Australia. I set up a different shipping profile for these products and
set the shipping costs accordingly.

I added a $2 shipping rate on the condition that the cost of the order is
greater than the cost of a single printed product (only if they order
multiple or add it to an order with other non-printed products).

Combined shipping rates combines these rates automatically at checkout.

Does this make sense?

I definitely also need this feature.

For us it is not a matter of Price. It is a matter of choosing between different carriers with different services.

We sell furniture and accessories.

All accessories is sent with one carrier

But if you choose to buy furniture, then this needs to be sent with different carrier. And here you can choose to have the carrier "Carry-In" the product.

This works fine if you just select only furniture or accessories in the cart.

But if you choose to buy both accesories and furniture. Then it just says "Shipping" in checkout, and you cannot choose between carriers / services.

Here it should just show the carriers from "Custom Shipping Rates" in my opinion

Hi MyMedEquip

This sounds like a work-around that I could try using.

Are you able to show how you implemented the condition for the cost as explained in your second paragraph?
Perhaps a screenshot or two?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Sure!

I clicked on the three dots pertaining to the rate (on the right of it), then I went 'Edit Rate' then 'Add Condition' down the bottom in blue writing, I added a condition based on order price and put the price as just above the cost of the item in the profile.
