How to set shipping fee based on QUANTITY, not WEIGHT

Our business sells gift boxes with chocolates, cookies and other sweets.  I've linked up FedEx with Shopify.  When a customer orders one box, the shipping charge is $10.  When a customer orders two boxes, the shipping charge should be $20.  The reason being is that we don't have big boxes to put multiple orders for the same customer into one big box so essentially, we are treating this like multiple orders, not one.  What's occurring is that for two orders, the shipping charge will increase just slightly, from $10 to $11.  So we end up having to contact the customer and informing them we will have to charge their CC for more due to the shipping cost.  Do you have any recommendations on how we can configure Shopify so we can accurately reflect what the shipping charge should be?

Hey Christine!

Sam here with Shopify to help you out!

There is actually an App called Better Shipping that does exactly what you're asking for. It allows you to set up individual shipping rates per Product and even has the ability to set up Tiered Shipping so you can have a quantity of 2 be $20 and 3 be $30, etc. for your Shipping Rates.

Hope this helps!

Yes, you can use the FedEx rates, labels & tracking app to handle this. The app has an option to pack each item individually and calculate rates for each.
