I want to update ein number on my shopify account.

When setting up payments, I remember putting in my EIN, which at the time was my SSN. Since then, I have set up an EIN, and wanted to update that information but can't find where to do so. How do I do this?

It keeps saying this shop is unavailable. I need to update my EIN and my Merchant account. Can you please email me.

I am sorry to hear that. When entering your store name do be sure to include your .myshopify.com domain name rather than the custom domain. Alternatively, as a workaround, it is possible can click on the following link to speak with our support team directly, without pin verification. 

 

That being said I am happy to help where I can. I see that you have emailed in - thank you for this.  I have replied to your email and arranged for this to be escalated to our specialist team for you. They will reach out to you directly as soon as they have an update; this can in cases take up to 72 hours. If you have any additional queries regarding this you can pop them through via the email.

 That link takes me to an inactive dialogue box. Very disappointed in customer service, for I'd just like someone to call me to have a actual conversation because your system does not work.

I'm very sorry to hear that, and it is not our intention at all.  Can you share what happens when you attempt to click on the link? Have you been able to test via a different browser, or after clearing your browser cache? It is interesting as it is working for me from here, indicating that an error is likely occurring locally. 

 

I understand that you would like for our team to call you and to be able to speak with someone. At present we do take inbound calls only, though I have noted your feedback here.

 

However, for the account changes that you would like to make, these do need to be actioned by our specialist team. While our general support work via phone, chat, and social media, our escalated teams work via email only. I have passed this through to them as mentioned and they will reach out to you directly to help you with this change. This is the best and fastest way to get this resolved for you at this time. 

 

I do appreciate that you have spent time trying to get in contact. I recommend testing via a different browser, device, or after clearing your browser cache. If this does not work do please share a screenshot of the error and we can look into this separately.
