In store pick up only

I have a brick and mortar store as well as the shopify shop, I sell a variety of products, some of which cannot be shipped and i want to showcase and allow customers to purchase then pick-up in-store. Is there a way to set certain products (collections or tagged items) so they can not be shipped?

Appfreaker has the right idea: the best option in your case would be to look into the App Store Pickup + Delivery by Zapiet. It has the capability to do store pick-up only, with costs depending on how many stores you have available. It also has a free trial of 14 days so you can try it out to see if it's the right fit for your business.

Otherwise, you can also uncheck the 'This product requires shipping' checkbox when you're building a product, but this means that the checkout will bypass the shipping step entirely if it's the only item in the cart.

If you have more than one location where customers can pick up items from, you will need to get creative with how and where you let your customers know that certain items are meant for in-store pick-up only. A note in the product description and cart might help, or you could potentially use an App like Product Label and Product Badge to add an 'In-Store Pickup Only' flag to your special products.

The Zapiet App is likely the most elegant solution, but I figured I'd let you know about any other options available.

What happens when the shop is built? Do we have to rebuild the store in order to have this option? All my products are PICK-UP only?

HI All, I was wondering if this solution fits my requirements:

 

My business model is as follows:

 

My main store is located in city A. However I have many other stores in 19 cities around my contry. Many products are only sold in my main store (City A) however in my e-commerce site I want to offer the possibility to adquire products from my main store and pick them up in one of the others store but with cost.

 

Is there a solution for that?

 

I would appreciate your help.-

Pay another $29 dollar for an app to have a pick only option  in shopify is ridiculous. This is so basic that should be implemented in the product settings.

Hi @Diana_S , @Robert_Bartel , @CarlosNZ ,

You can selectively choose which products you want for local pickup very easily without an external app, you can do so directly in Shopify.

  1. In Shopify, go to Settings > locations > Add location, call it Pickup only
  2. Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery > Local pickup and enable pickup for the Pickup only only
  3. Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery > Create new profile,
    1. name it Products for pickup only
    2. click Add products and select specific products or even specific variants
    3. click Show details under Shipping from, click manage, and remove all rates except for the Pickup only location
    4. Don't create a Shipping zone
    5. click Save
  4. Stock products and variants in the Pickup only location, you can do so via bulk edit

Now when a customer checks out using these products, they'll see pickup location as an option. There are some caveats:

  • Don't forget to stock inventory at these locations; Yes, you'll need to manage inventory (allocate amounts between your shipping & Pickup only locations)
  • If you have shipping enabled in any shipping profile, the shipping option will show up at checkout even if everything in the cart is pickup only. However, when customer tries to checkout via shipping, they'll get an error saying they can't (we inquired multiple times with Shopify and there's no workaround)

If you need to customize pickup times, want more contactless pickup using SafeMatch Verification, or add non-Shopify pickup locations, feel free to take a look at the Curbside Pickup Guru app. It's a Shopify Staff Pick and BFCM Must Have App. The app doesn't force you to change theme code or create new shipping profiles. It's 100% compatible with all themes and existing shipping setup.

hi, when I builing my products, I don't see that "this product requires shipping".  Why?

When I attempt to follow step #2 "Add products" all my products state "Doesn't ship" and I am not sure how to get the products to be selectable in this step. I have attached a screen shot. Thanks. add product.png

My only other shipping option is "this is a physical product." I don't have an option of shipping or no shipping. For things that we can't ship, what do you recommend?
