I have a question about purchasing multiple labels with Shopify labels. For example in an upcoming release my store will be selling shirts with a matching screen printed poster. I need to ship the shirt in a poly mailer and the poster in a poster tube so if I mark the shirt for fullfillment and buy the shipping label for it will I be able to then mark the poster for fullfillment and puchase another label for that?
Any better ideas for shipping posters and shirts together is appreciated! This is just the way I thought shipping them would work best.
Thanks for posting on the forums!
You can for sure buy a shipping label for each item in the order if you are using USPS and buying the labels in your admin!
I hope this helps!
Your response gives info on printing multiple labels for multiple orders but not for an order that needs multiple labels. I too have many orders that are too big to fit in one single package. How can ONE order be split into multiple packages?
Most shipping services allow this since it is a common occurrence in the business world. I have been disappointed in the limitations of Shopify's Shipping. I love the convenience for simple orders but not being able to increase insurance and what appears to be no way to ship multiple packages on a single order are serious problems.
Hopefully you have some good news for me.
You currently can fulfill items in multiple packages by purchasing labels for each individual item.
This doesn't help when the customer is calculating shipping during checkout. We ran a 20% off and BOGO promo for the holidays, and custo mers didn't go through with their purchases ultimately because the shipping calculator combined all items (at 50lb each) into one package, sending the shipping costs through the roof effectively nulling the savings on these promotions.
I want to know how we can set our items to calculate shipping in individual packages for our customers buying more than one item, as each of our items by default ships in its own individual box.
Unfortunately, shipping items in separate packages through Shopify is not currently a feature that is offered. If you're open to using a 3rd party app, our app Intuitive Shipping can definitely handle this type of setup for you.
You can import Dimensions for each of your products, then choose Package Separately. Our app connects with the major carriers and will perform a live rate lookup at the time of checkout using the input dimensions and product weights. If you would like to test out the app, it's free to install and run test checkouts.
Let me know if you have any questions.
If you would like to use an app to solve this, check out the Multi Carrier Shipping Label app. The app lets you add dimensions for all your products and allows you to pack the products separately with the quantity based packing method. the app has integrations with all major carriers and also helps you create labels and automate tracking.
