Is it possible to connect the Swedish Payment Provider Swish to our webstore?

Hi @Rochalur,

Nick here from Shopify. Great question!

I just took a look and it doesn't seem like Shopify is partnered with Swish as a possible payment gateway for stores based out of Sweden. You can see all the payment gateways Shopify is partnered with in Sweden below.

You can also find the help page link regarding Swedish payment gateways for Shopify here

Hope this helps!

All the best, Nick

Hi @daniboy,

A very interesting question. If you and your store are based in Denmark, I would look to stay and work from a Danish payment gateway here. Each Shopify store can only work with one payment gateway (as well as PayPal) at a time. By changing to a Swedish bank account and payment gateway could make things complicated for you. Do you plan to sell anywhere else outside of Sweden with your store?

Shopify is partnered with many payment gateways in Denmark which I think would be able to accept Swedish as well as Danish Krone which you can see here. Is there a specific reason you are so keen to use Swish?

Hi Nick,

My payment gateway is Quickpay and they can accept Swish, through my Quickpay dashboard i would be able to setup Swish when i have a swedish bank account which i can get through by current bank so no problem here so far.

However as far as i know and understand a Shopify shop unless Shopify plus is only able to take payment in one currency. Swish is only able to accept payment in Swedish kroners. Would this mean, that if i keep my shop in Danish Kroner, i would not be able to take Swish payment?

I hope it makes sense, and i'm not sure if you know. I might just have to test i guess? Seems like no one really knows.

We have a payment form similar to that in Denmark which is working really good in our shop (MobilePay) further with those mobile payment forms, 3D Secure payment is automatic, which is not possible through Shopifys integrated checkout which can cause some chargeback problems and whenever the banks roll it out for good payment problems.

Cheers,

Daniel

To elaborate i bit further.

From my payment gateway it would work. The payment would be handled and send to my Swedish Bank Account whenever payment is with Swish.

All others would go to my Danish Bank Account.

I'm currently accepting Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finish creditcard payments in DKK no problem.

Hi @daniboy,

Regarding this in your latest reply:

You should be able to accept multiple currencies on your store if you are not on Shopify Plus. It might not always display in a different currency. But something you could look into is using Shopify Payments and then Shopify Multi-Currency from there. Shopify Payments is available in Denmark which you can see here

Selling in multiple currencies lets you accept payments in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments, basically having your customers shop and pay in their local currency. You can see more about this from the helpful guide Shopify has about multi-currency here

Do you think this could possibly be what you're looking to do?

All the best, Nick
