Does anyone know if there is a way to add a shipping calculator to a product page in Shopify? I feel like more of our customers are looking to estimate the cost of shipping by skipping the unnecessary step of clicking through to the cart and then entering in their information there. I haven't come across any apps in the app store that would allow this but maybe I'm missing something. Suggestions?

Great question! I have only seen shipping calculators on the cart page. It may be possible to add one to the product page but it would tricky to determine the shipping costs unless something was added to the cart as there would be so many variables to calculate depending on the shipping settings you have configured for each possible type of order, having products in the cart would narrow it down.
You may have seen these apps - Shipping Rates Calculator Plus & Shipping & Tax Calculator, they add the calculator to the cart page but it may be worth reaching out to the developers to see if it would be possible to add it to a product page.
Hope this helps!

we can add a product page shipping calculator to your store - this feature is an add-on option with the advanced shipping manager.
The advanced shipping manager will offer a solution for accurately calculating shipping for your products.
No more worrying how to quote shipping rates in your store! Now you can account for product level settings, such as:
- Shipping from multiple dropshippers (multiple origins), and even cover for dropshipping fees
- Dimensional weight products and products that ship alone
- Flat-rate or free shipping promotions for specific products
- Block certain shipping methods for specific products
- Real-Time rates from common US couriers - for domestic and international shipping methods
- Real-Time rates from many freight couriers!

I'd caution people against the method above that someone is trying to charge for.
This clears the cart, adds the current item to the cart, gets the shipping rates for the cart (which will now only have that one item), clears the cart again (and hopefully adds whatever was in the cart back in). This is not without risks so if you must do it, make sure you've got a plan b in case it fails.
If you want to build it yourself, look into the AJAX API:
I wrote a very old blog post about it but probably worth me adding some disclaimers there too:
