Refund using third party payment gateway

I have already issued a refund using my third party provider but I now want to capture that on Shopify. If I issue a refund on Shopify for the amount already refunded, will it refund the amount again? Does the 'Manual' under refund mean that it won't automatically refund the customer?

Hey, @unravelled

Great question! Given that the system says "manual" then it would indicate that you are providing a manual refund outside of Shopify. However; I can also check to see if your third-party payment provider is able to refund orders within the admin. Could you tell me the name of the payment provider you're using?

Great, thanks! PayFast does not support refunds through the Shopify admin so processing the refund via the admin will not cause a double refund to occur.

@N_Abey  Can the refund integration just be done by you or would you require PayFast to agree. I'm just trying to gauge if this is a done deal, or if it is a maybe. I have some functionality that would really gain from this.

As long as PayFast api have refund API calls with in their developer documentation, we can get this done it as a private integration.
