We've ran into a problem with our 4500 products on our retail store and website that we just switched platform with to Shopify.
We're selling furniture and using a third party provider, called Specter as our inventory manager.
Customer ordering 1 sofa in one of the 3 different color cloths. We can only seem to send a single SKU to our inventory manager. This means that we basicly have to create packages in our inventory manager with unique SKUs for ALL different type of options/colors/variants to include both the sofa and the color.
The SKU for the sofa (main product): SOFA
The SKU for color: COLOR1
The SKU for color: COLOR2
The SKU for color: COLOR3
We'd want the process from Shopify to send two SKUs, one for the main product (the sofa) and one SKU for the chosen color.
So when a customer orders a sofa in color 2, Shopify will then send two SKUs to our inventory manager.
(MAIN PRODUCT) SKU: SOFA
(OPTION/VARIANT) SKU: COLOR2
But we cannot seem to find any way to get this to work..
Create each color as separate sku in hidden product with zero price and unlimited inventory.
Perform following steps
Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid that we're still unsure on how to go about to do this.
We have done step #1 already, with the colors being separate products with their own specific SKUs that are hidden/not available on the website.
How do we perform the action when the customer ads the color X with the sofa, it ads both the color SKU and the sofa SKU to cart?
