Is there a way to set a fixed price for shop items in selected currencies?
My Shopify account is a USA based account, so all payments default to USD.
I have a currency converter setup that uses geolocation to switch to the users' currency based on their location.
That then takes the USD price, applies a conversion rate, and display the price in your local currency.
So if the item is 10 USD, depending on the conversion the price in e.g. Euro at any time may be e.g. 8.78 or 9.12.
But I don't want that.
I want the price in Euro to be 8.99 - regardless of the exchange rate.
Sometimes we will lose a few cents, sometimes we will gain a few cents.
I want to do this for GBP and EURO.
Is there a way I can do that or a plugin I can use?
I tried Bold Multi-Currency, but I can only set 1 manual exchange rate.
But I need to set multiple.
For all other currencies, I am happy to go with the standard conversion rates as calculated automatically.
Nick here from Shopify.
Great question. Bold Multi-Currency sprung to my mind from the title of your post, but after reading your post I can see that's not an option. I did some investigating for you on this and found some other apps in the Shopify app store which might work for you. This is something which is quite custom so the apps will generally cost something, while Bold's multi-currency app is free. Let's take a look at some of the other app options below:
Other than one of the apps above, there are a couple of other options. Having multi stores one for each currency is one alternative, another could be to reach out to a Shopify expert directly to have something built for you specifically.
Don't hesitate to ask should you have any other questions about anything.
All the best, Nick
We have the same problem here.
I have been told several times by Front End Developement Team and Plus MSM that fixed exchange rates for Multiple currencies is being developed at the time. However 1/2 year has passed since then and still get the same answer every single time I ask the MSM or FED Team about it.
At the moment we use Bold but we are not happy with them at all [...]
We hope fixed exchange rates to be deployed soon to prod.
