I'm struggeling with setting up shipping on Shopify.
Here is my issue:
I'm selling succulent and cacti pots through my online shop. I have different sized boxes and weights for shipping. When I test the whole order process and then I fulfill the order it's found out that shipping price is counter only by weight that's not correct. I want the system calculate shipping price with box size and weight together not only weight.
Also, at checkout customer sees only standard price not calculated by weight and size. How can I set shipping correctly to set the price from box size and overall weight?
For now, I'm using shipping method for $5 for every order and that's not cost effective for brand ned business you know.
Also, when I linked Google Merchant center to Shopify it automatically set shipping with different price for Google. I have $5 for shipping and in merchant center's setting I saw there was shipping rate for $7.90. I did not understand from where did it take?
Please provide detailed instruction how am I able to set shipping rate that will be calculated by weight and size at checkout.
Waiting for your prompt reply.
Thanks in advance!
You can disable the shopify shipping settings, and create your own one in Google Merchant Center.
Step 2) Create your own: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6069284?hl=en
Step 3) Validating accuracy by going to Google Merchant Center > Products > All Products > click on a product > scroll a bit lower and you see shipping details, here do some tests.
Hope this helps.
I hope you are looking for a solution to calculate rates based on both weight & dimensions of your products. If so, the Multi Carrier Shipping Label app would be helpful for you. With the box packing method in the app, you can set up separate packages for your products based on the weight & dimensions. So, whenever your customer places an order, the app automatically chooses the right box and calculates the rates accordingly. Also, with the app, you can print labels, and also automate the tracking process.
Regarding the calculated shipping rates at checkout, you have to enable Carrier calculated shipping to display rates from different carriers. To access your account rates different carriers and display them at checkout, there are 3 options:
Hi Tamo, you can set it by weight.
If you are using a supported courier then the weight and dimensions are used.
If you are not using a courier, then currently dimensions can't be used. You need to then submit the shipping price separately and depending if its location based, will quickly become extremely complex to setup.
In your case you can use a supplement feed. With a column for the ID's make sure the ID matches the id in the primary feed. And a shipping column. 1 For each location.
I recommend you look at the following documentation
Alternatively set it to an overestimate.
Google's policy states that the shipping price in the feed must be equal or an overestimate then what is charged on the website.
There is no such policy stating different methods. What is important is that the shipping prices are correct.
