We've fully implemented our UPS account using the XML key however Shopify is not pulling our negotiated SurePost rates from UPS. We use Shipworks to buy our labels and Shipworks IS pulling the negotiated rates. This is a big problem because our customers are seeing inflated rates. The main difference is that Shipworks ues the UPS account number while Shopfiy uses the API via the XML key. Has anyone solved this problem?
@Jeffrey_Nichols : Shopify does not support SurePost as most customers use the existing UPS services like Ground, Next Day Air, etc. Hence there was no need up till now to to support SurePost. However, I have got news that they are serious about implementing the same in the coming versions. Since you already have a UPS account, you can try the Multi carrier shipping label app and using it you will get discounted SurePost rates. In addition, you can use the same app to buy your labels so that a single solution fulfils all your shipping scenarios.
the solution exists with The advanced shipping manager add on - This will allow you to pull your discount rate for Surepost and post to Shipworks https://checkout.advancedshippingmanager.com/product/ups-surepost
I finally received a bit of an answer about SurePost from Shopify. I was told today when I chatted with a rep that Shopify has not yet reached the threshold of requests for this feature needed to make it an option. I was told that I should encourage others who wanted to see this option to let Shopify know! You can send messages, but it is far more effective to initiate a chat with support, asking about the status of this option.
The Shopify rep that I spoke with has assured me that this can be added if requests are being received! If you want to see SurePost available through Shopify, natively, then let them know! Personally, I want to be in the beta group, so I'm on record for wanting it first! lol
Here's the URL to initiate a chat:
no, Shopify still has not added SurePost as a native option. It’s still only possible through a third-party app.
but if you want to see it added, we all need to contact Shopify through chat and ask about this feature. Shopify will add it once they have enough requests.
here’s a link to the chat page...
As Kenny has mentioned, adding UPS SurePost as a native option is possible if Shopify gets enough requests. You can contact Shopify support via chat and place yourself a request to add UPS SurePost. As a current workaround, you can check out our Multi Carrier Shipping Label app that helps you integrate your own UPS account, add UPS SurePost and display SurePost rates at checkout.
