Hi. I've got a message from a potential buyer asking if I accepted cash on delivery because they had no credit card. I never really thought much about it but I was just wondering about how to really set up the whole thing. I understand that the customer only pays once they receive their item, but I'm not to familiar with the process. What would ensure that they'll end up paying once they've received it? Also, is there a template of what I could use for the "Additional details" and "Payment instructions" during the set up?
Also, this will be for dropshipping if that makes a difference.
Here- https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/manual-payments- you can find step by step instructions on how to setup a COD manual payment method. As to what would ensure the customer pays eventually for the order, the package is not handed over to the customer until he pays to the delivery company representative.
You can find an example here - https://blog.sellerschoice.digital/how-to/add-cash-on-delivery-cod-payment-option-shopify- scroll down to the screenshot under p.3.
Thanks! The thing I'm concerned about is, how would the delivery company representative forward that cash over to me? Seeing as if I'm gonna dropshipping the product to the customer, what will actually ensure that the delivery guy will forward that money over rather than keep it for himself? Just curious.
