Validation error: No acquirer is found (Credit card payment error)

Hi,

i set up my "QuickPay (v10 Platform)" to process payments from credit cards (Shopify dashboard -> Setting -> Accept credit cards -> QuickPay (v10 Platform) ). I went through described setup process.

When i tried to buy somethig from my shop with credit card (in order to test if it works) an error appeared: "Validation error: No acquirer is found on transaction and no acquirer could be determined from request.".

I would like to know how can i respond to that in order to be able to process payments from Credit cards. Could you please help me with it?

Hi, Dušan!

My name is Ava, I’m one of Shopify’s Gurus and I’m here to help :)

You would need to use a payment gateway that has an integration and with your countries financial institutions in order to accept credit card payments from your customers at the checkout. When you find a suitable gateway, you can set up an account with the payment gateway on their website. Once that account is created, you can add that payment gateway to your Shopify admin, creating a link between the accounts.

Could you make sure you have your account set up correctly with your payment gateway?

Alternatively, the error message you are seeing may be because this gateway is not included on the list of available services for your country. To check this out, you can visit www.shopify.com/payment-gateways, then add /your-county to the end of the URL! So for example, if you lived in Sweden it would be www.shopify.com/payment-gateways/sweden, or if you lived in Czech Republic it would be www.shopify.com/payment-gateways/czech-republic.

The list of gateways you will see there are the only ones you could use for your Shopify store. This is because Shopify has an agreement between these gateways and the financial institutions/banks of certain countries to accept payments in certain currencies. So some payment gateways are not available in certain countries.

If you have double-checked that your payment gateway account is set up correctly, and you are using a gateway available in your country, but are still seeing this error, I'd like to look into this further for you.

Would you be able to send us an email to support@shopify.com using the email address listed as the account owners? Once you have done that, you can pop back here and let me know the support ticket number you were assigned (which will be emailed to you). That way, I can pick the ticket out of the queue and take a closer look at your settings!

Let me know how you get on :)

Ava

Hi Ava,

i set up my account with payment gateway according to guidlines provided, so i believe it is set up correctly. The only thing that i am now waiting for is ClearHaus API KEY, that will be given to me after my application for it will be approved. This gateway (QuickPay) is included on the list of available services for my country.

Here is my ticket number: 10144181

I will let you know, if the problem will be still there even after implementing ClearHaus API KEY (after i get it).

Thank you for your help so far :) ,

Hi, Kyle!

Ava here, so sorry in the delay in responding to you!

I've taken a closer look at your store's settings and can see that QuickPay (v10 Platform) is not available in Malta as a credit card provider. However, QuickPay is available in the Alternative Payments section as a gateway!

It just seems to be the (v10 Platform) version that is not supported by Shopify in Malta yet I'm afraid. Alternative gateways are gateways that will direct your customer away from the Shopify in order to finalize the sale.

Would you be able to use QuickPay as an alternative option?

Hi Ava,

my acquirer application for Clearhaus API KEY was politely declined, because of their system do not support my business model (as was said to me).

There are also other acquirer applications that allow me to solve the problem, i am going to make them.

I really appreciate your willingness to help and i understand this problem is probably out of "shopify reach". I will post further informations about this after i get response about other applications (just in case that somebody else from the forum will face the same thing).

Have a nice day,

Dušan König
