"order confirmation" email not displaying delivery date chosen by customer

We have datepicker installed, but the delivery date chosen by the customer is not displayed on the "order confirmation" email sent after purchase.
Can I please get a straightforward and simple answer? I want the script and where to paste it. Thanks

Is the delivery date something you're saving as a cart attribute?

The docs have a quick note on showing those here:

I don't know how to save the delivery date as a cart attribute... is that what I have to do?

Could not do it myself. Somebody from Shopify customer service fixed the prob.
