Due to Brexit Northern Island and Ireland have different Tax Rates.
Northern Island are still part of the European Union - whereas the rest of Ireland isn't,
But... Shopify doesn't allow you to setup a 'Zone' for Northern Ireland? So in Both scenarios we're unable to collect the correct amount of Tax? (Ireland is no longer VAT applicable when shipping from the UK but Northern Ireland is).
Scenario A: Product Prices don't include VAT, you're unable to specify Northern Ireland so all of Ireland will be 0% Tax which is wrong.
Scenario B: Your Prouct Prices Do Include VAT, and you have multiple Stores which collect/don't collect TAX. You're unable to Exclude Ireland/Northern Ireland from either store in the Shipping Zones. So a customer could actually order from the wrong store and get charged the wrong VAT.
Have Shopify thought this through?

For anyone reading this with the same query. After speaking with Shopify - Northern Ireland comes into the United Kingdom Zone for Tax. Ireland only includes the 26 Counties not consisting of any Northern Counties. This does mean that if you want a different Shipping Rate for Northern Ireland to the rest of the UK You'll need an App or Shopify Plus with some Custom Scripting from a developer.
Hi, just to confirm Ireland is in the EU... the UK left the EU, so Ireland tax rules will be the same as all EU countries. I have the reverse problem we are based in Ireland (26 counties) and can sell to Northern Ireland but not the UK currently (DPD stopped delivering to UK). Is it possible to set up a separate zone for Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales?
Thank you, It was mainly the confusion of Nothern Ireland and what Shopify Zone it belonged to for us. When speaking to Shopify they said that you'd have to use an App to allow different shipping rules between Northern Ireland and the UK (one that does it based on Postcodes). Alternatively, if you're on Shopify Plus you could achieve something similar with the Script Editor and detecting Northern Ireland Postcodes (as there's far fewer than the UK).
