We have three stores currently,

www.example.co.uk + www.example.co.za + usa.example.com

Our main website which has high domain authority and 10000+ backlinks etc is www.example.com

Is it possible to combine all three stores onto www.example.com and host information pages too (buyer's guides etc) then using hreflang have three addresses:

www.example.com/en-gb/store/
www.example.com/en-us/store/
www.example.com/en-za/store/

Thank you!

Hey, @kitingfun

Tira here to help.

Thanks for providing your store URLs. It sounds like you want to manage all of your store’s data into one account. There isn’t a feature on Shopify that would allow you to do this, you can look into selling in multiple languages on your store if you want to have one storefront, but show your content on your store in different languages to your customers. You can also enable multiple languages with separate URLs for your translated content. When a customer lands onto your translated URL, they will see your translations for that language.

If you want to sell in multiple languages on your store, you’ll need to meet these requirements:

  • A Shopify plan that provides the option to sell in multiple languages.
  • A theme that's compatible with selling in multiple languages. All the free themes from Shopify are compatible. You might need to update your theme for it to be compatible with selling in multiple languages. If you're using a third-party theme, then you can contact your theme developers to check if it's compatible.
  • A theme that has a language selector. Only the newest versions of the Debut, Brooklyn, and Express themes have built-in language selectors. If you're using another theme or an older version of the theme, then you can add a language selector using the Geolocation app by Shopify.

Check out our help doc for the steps to set-up selling in multiple languages on your store.

I helped a client to do SEO on his Shopify stores. One is a domain in Hong Kong and then, he created another domain for the Singapore market. He did search for ways to combine them but it appear not very feasible as the two stores are focusing on to different market. The stores carry similar product lines though, different set of keywords are required for SEO. Though he created inter-site links to cross referring traffic and the DA of the older Hong Kong site which has five years operating history can pass a portion to the newly opened Singapore site.
