I created an app for shopfiy.
The app helps shop owners increase sales on their store.
I want to mark orders that were made using my tool. For this I wanted to add a hidden fields to the order process.
Basiclly I'd like to add a field from the cookies to every order that is made in the shop and be able to get that data point when I get orders from the API.
Is there a better or any way to do that?
If your app redirects users to the store to purchase, another idea is to add UTM parameters to the redirect URL. With UTM parameters present, Shopify will attribute orders to your app and you can retrieve this information through the API. This will also allow the merchant to see the attribution on the order detail page and in marketing reports.
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure this can help in my case.
My app (launched threw script tag) is an overlay inside the shop owner's store. Threw the overlay there is an option to "add to cart"
Is there a way to attribute an order to an app? if so how? and how can I view these attributions via the API?
