Adding an internal API to a public Shopify App built with React / Node / Polairs

I want to build a public embedded Shopify App with React and Node.JS as described here: https://developers.shopify.com/tutorials/build-a-shopify-app-with-node-and-react

but also have this app interact with an internal API built with Rails, and hosted separately.

My Rails API will be storing the following data:

• Store ID,
• Order attrs (e.g. variant_id, product_id)

Would using such API violate Shopify guidelines for developing public apps?

Hey @dimanyc,

The guidelines don't mention underlying infrastructure. Let me know if there was a specific guideline you were concerned about.
