Auth0 social login appears to not work

I'm integrating sharing of users between a shopify shop & a customer portal, and one of the sepcs is that users that register at the shop should be able to use their shopify logins to access the shop & vice versa.

I've added a Auth0 app to the store as described by the Auth0 dokumentation on the topic, but when trying to log in with a testuser I've registered trough the storefront, I get an error saying: "There's no matching email for this store".

Strangely enough, it automatically logs me when i select the social connection in the auth0 login when I have logged into the store trough the partner dahsboard before doing so.

The store is currently password limited because of it's clearly unfinished state. I do not know if this has anything to do with it?

This is an accepted solution.

This question is well timed.

I was trying to do the exact same thing.  If you were following this - https://auth0.com/docs/connections/social/shopify

then it is very misleading, it doesn't work with a customer, it is aimed for account owners and developers.

What you need to do is override the Shopify sign-in and use auth0 sign in.  We are still working through this, and it is not as simple as you would think

This may help: https://rovani.net/Shopify-Auth0-Multipass/

Thanks

Thanks. that explains the strange behaviours i observed.

I got to take this up with the guys responsible for the project, but good to know this is what's going on.

We were already planning on using multipass for customers logged in from other idp's, so not too much of a change for my part at least.
